We love to celebrate fantastic client feedback about our in-branch teams. Rowena, a Relationship Executive in charge of bookings for our Bristol branch, received some fantastic feedback: "Rowena is always friendly and approachable...I know that I can come to her with any niggle or feedback and that will be dealt with appropriately. I can be a challenging client with high expectations but she understands this and shows attention to details with my bookings. Working alongside consistently helpful and cheery makes my life so much easier!" - Home Manager, Warmley Court

Great work, Rowena.

Cerys, one of our wonderful home care service users, has spent her time on acts of kindness during Mental Health Awareness week.

Supported by her Newcross Healthcare team, she has been busy crafting cards for the elderly people in her local community who are lonely whilst in self isolation.

Cerys has also been featured in a short blog for BBC Bitesize this week to educate young people on the importance of being kind. Link in the comments!

Well done, Cerys!

A trial has started in the UK to see if dogs can screen individuals with coronavirus using their sense of smell, before symptoms start to show 🐶. If successful, the 'Covid dogs' may be used as part of the government's testing strategy.

Sniffer dogs are already trained and used to detect odours of certain cancers, malaria and Parkinson's disease by the charity Medical Detection Dogs.

Labradors and Cocker Spaniels will be used in the trials led by NHS staff in London.

Exclusive Makaton training is now available to over 9,000 Newcross staff for free as part of our 'Educate whilst you Isolate' training series.

Makaton is a unique form of communicating, blending signs, symbols and speech to enable people to communicate. This combination of communication methods offers people extra clues and can help people who have difficulty speaking or perhaps are unable to speak at all.
