Really good place to work
Business change and project Manager (Former Employee) –  Warwick14 January 2019
Worked at NG for nearly 12 years, I was mid to senior management and obviously over that time had a good handful of roles.

I worked mainly at Warwick HQ but did my first three years in and out of the Solihull branch. Be warned, traffic is a nightmare in and around Warwick so although you may only live 10 minutes away, be prepared for your journey to work to take 30 minutes!
Pros
Structure, consistency
Cons
change initiatives gone crazy

There is huge variety of roles and the business develops talent.

What we do matters in society which is very motivating.

Work Experience (Former Employee) –  Northampton, Northamptonshire24 November 2018
As part of my work experience during secondary school I managed to secure a role at National Grid. I worked from 9am until 5pm. This helped me to develop valuable skills in customer service as well as team work. In my time there I was able to listen and watch how the employees were on the helping customers resolving issues over the phone, I was able to learn a lot on how to deal with customers over the 1st line of support.

Business Change Project Officer (Former Employee) –  Warwick21 November 2018
Flexible working and staff safety is paramount at NGRID, and it shows in all the staff, ranging from Admin staff to the Exec level.

Training is promoted within the company, making progression easy, with everyone supported along the way

Caring place to work
Admin Assistant (Former Employee) –  Leicester, Leicestershire12 September 2018
Set up all systems/applications then validate work permits from councils so engineers could start digging the roads.

Send underground cable maps & other job information to engineers workbooks.

Call the engineers & input work results onto internal computer systems in time to avoid fines from the regulator.

One of the best supporting & caring places I have worked at

Process Improvement Lead (Current Employee) –  Warwick, Warwickshire5 September 2018
Some teams & areas are excellent for progression, flexible working and general work satisfaction. Others are not so consistent, it really depends on the leader in the area and how they want to run their operation.

Finance Manager (Former Employee) –  Warwickshire14 August 2018
AVOID

This is a big company that basically has many people doing the same thing. For sure 10 other people are doing the same thing as you.

They're hiring process is very weird as well. They constantly hire contractors that are good but are just from the same pool
Pros
none

Good place to work for. Big brand and well established business. Some of the staff are not great to work for. They have bad attitude and act as if it was their own place.

The place is nice to work for and the wage isn't too bad but you are given so many different tasks and tend to work different departments every now and then. The staff are friendly and the people are fun to be around.
