I.love doing justice at all.levels of life and I know working with the ministry of justices befits my choice of work!
You may wish to work within a prison if:
It's in an office only role.
As an OSG.
You love to get abused (any way is possible if you're not careful).
You love getting into fights (sometimes with naked prisoners wielding weapons and covered in baby oil, and no it's not fun xD).
Very rarely leave work on time (most shifts end around 30-40mins late).
You have a severe mental issue and think that all the above sound like a great but tiring day.
I would like to get back into care work
You don't want to work here unless you wished to in danger all day, abused by both prisoners and management.
These days you really don't as staff cuts and zero pay rises means giving more of yourself for less in return in unsafe environment
Because iam out off work
Because i worked 12 years later in prison with criminals in justic
You dont, seriously, it may have been a secure place to work a few years back but now it is infested with people who are only in it for themselves, constant meaningless meetings only held to make the person in charge of the meeting to look better, laughable 'development' system, managers come in, make a load of changes then leave. The only good thing about the place is fexible working (but that has its own drawback). Morale non existant. Serously, its dying, look elsewhere
It's an exciting department to work for, especially for younger people. It's a very fast paced environment with constant change which will suit some, but not all. Alot of the securities that come with being a civil servant (like pensions) are either been capped or eroded because of cutbacks. Civil Service is less and less a job for life.
