The day would start around 0830 and would have some structure to it, visits, meetings, data inputting, responding to e-mails and telephone calls etc. However, these would need to be altered if a crisis developed with a case. The day would predominantly finish around 1700, but this would depend if a crisis had occurred and may be after this time.
Throughout this time I have learned how to work effectively with children and their families in order to get the best possible outcome for the children.
There is good managerial support and a hardworking, cohesive team culture which allows you to deal with the emotional impact of your work. The hardest part of the job is dealing with emotional impact of your role and the most enjoyable part is getting good, positive feedback from the child.
