Terrible Workplace, covered up to look good.
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) –  Southend, Essex17 June 2018
They've wasted enough of my time. So I wont bother wasting anymore by writing anything dignifying about them, they are a sham of a bank, fraud is rampant, they are unprofessional. Playgrounds are more structured.

Cashier (Current Employee) –  Staines-upon-Thames, Surrey7 June 2018
Great culture, great management and advancement potential. Fast paced and growing company. Unsociable hours hard to get used to but overtime and lieu compensates well.

Good place to work but the pay is so bad. Some management team members are awful. There is favouritism within certain teams. The work environment can be very fun.

Not what you'd expect from a bank
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) –  London6 September 2017
I was veyr surprised to realise how different Metro Bank was to other banks. The culture was lovely as it was very fun and exciting. However the main downfall for me was the unsociable hours.

Good place for young people to gain experience, friendly colleagues
Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) –  London, Greater London23 April 2017
Good place for young people to gain experience, friendly colleagues.

No set days off, overtime is often not given back to you, no incentives for your hard work, maybe a pat on the back if youre lucky.

Multi-Skilled Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) –  Hemel Hempstead, ENG14 May 2015
Good atmosphere to work in where the culture encourages us to enjoy what we do.
Great team.
As such a new bank not great exposure to the whole financial market for someone looking to learn the banking market. For example no investment or protection products.
Cons
Shift Pattern

COMMERCIAL SUPPORT OFFICER (Current Employee) –  Holborn3 November 2014
Great place to work.
Challenging but exciting.

In the morning the tasks are shared amongst the team members. For example the report for direct debits and cheque. Statements for corporate companies, alerts from credit agencies. On boarding for new and existing customers etc.
Pros
Magic Fridays

Wonderful Cutlture!
Bank Cashier (Former Employee) –  Croydon, London, ENG19 January 2014
This job is ideal for those without family. There are always jobs that you can excel in and there is always room for progression. The hours are slightly difficult, shift work with hours ranging from 7 in the morning and a possible finishing time of 10 pm, this is not like working in any other bank as there is a culture of customer services that is inbred into you the moment you start. great for those that feel like they want to make a difference in a stereotypically selfish industry.
Pros
Bonuses, great people to work with/for, Customer facing, A very good social life included
Cons
Can be long hours, Customer facing, Only around London
