Think very carefully before applying.
Lavatory Attendant (Current Employee) –  Whalley10 October 2019
The management in my directorate are clueless. "Basil Fawlty", would make a more effective manager!

Lots of form filling, huge numbers of 9-4 with 9-3.30 on Fridays pen pushers.

Negative and soul destroying blame culture
Staff Nurse Band 5 (Current Employee) –  Liverpool, Merseyside17 December 2018
A negative vindictive culture where managers profess to have no knowledge of what goes on on the “shop floor” despite being repeatedly told by staff. When something goes wrong they have a combination of how did this happen (surprise) and who is to blame. Unless it’s a consultant doctor in which case no mater how many staff are injured by a decision they make it gets glossed over and forgotten. It’s a wonder they don’t make the press more often
Pros
They pay you
Cons
The seldom pay you correctly

Care
Integrated therapy worker (Former Employee) –  Liverpool28 August 2018
Assist a service user with everyday life, finances, medications, activities and cooking etc. Keep up to date and accurate daily notes of days activities. Management fighting between CQC and trusts policies. You needed good sense of humour and good people skills, you need to stay calm and react to situations rationally and without prejudice. Your there to help and not judge.
Pros
Great team with professional attitude.
Cons
Restrictions by CQC

Good but its closing down so no job security
Support Worker (Former Employee) –  Can’t say30 May 2018
Good place to work, pension, meals provided, good holidays good wage. Much better than most private sector jobs. The training is only in house they won’t fund NVQs but they train you what you need to do the job. Working with offenders with learning disabilities can have its challenges but as long as you are friendly, respectful, professional and positive in your approach you should have no issues. Not every staff I worked with had this approach, some felt they needed to always show the patients they were ‘in charge’ and usually ended up being attacked often by the patients with this approach. Shame it is closing down I really enjoyed my time there apart from a few bad apples (support staff) but the most part a good team very supportive of each other. Managers fine, no problems with them.
Pros
Pension, holidays, wage above average
Cons
Long shifts, some support staff

'Free' parking in the NHS
Information Analyst/Developer (Contractor) (Current Employee) –  Prescot19 January 2018
There are many things that are done here that are good and some people really try hard.
But there is still some things were you raise an eyebrow at the lack of professionalism. Stuff (without going into detail) that should not be accepted within the NHS.
Lots of waste, money and time.
Regularly late starts in the mornings - persistent poor timekeeping
Lack of teamwork and poor communication between teams and other areas of the 'business'

I think the best thing I can say about this building V7, is the car parking is free - so long as you're here early enough to get a space!
Pros
Some lovely friendly people and free parking
Cons
Poor comms and lack of professionalism

BANK SUPPORT WORKER (Current Employee) –  Whalley, Lancashire5 January 2018
Run ok; like any other long stay hospital with strong history of patient safety concerns, there have been improvements over the years and the service has turned around by the acquisition made by Merseycare

Interesting and Educational place to work
Occupational Therapist (Current Employee) –  Whalley, Lancashire20 December 2017
The service has a lot to offer the patients and is well organised. The MDT teams work using a person centered approach and all staff present as non-judgmental and supportive to each individual . There is a lot opportunity for the staff to train in various areas and pathways for progression.
Pros
Excellent support systems in place
Cons
For me it is a long way to travel each day.

Drug and Alcohol Support co-ordinator (Current Employee) –  Southport22 September 2017
I enjoy working for Healthcare, there is a supportive management network. I like the professionalism of my colleagues and we get along on a personal level. I enjoy the challenge and reward of being able to change the direction of many people's lives for the better.
Travelling hours and the constant pressure levels are really the only two negative factors.
Pros
Good atmosphere, supportive
Cons
Travel hours, stressful environment

Contractor (Former Employee) –  Various26 July 2017
Not a nice place to work and certainly not nice people to work with in my 2 stints at different locations within the trust.

Liars and trouble causers.

Great job, terrible people, especially supervision and management who were not suitable nor capable for the roles they were given.
