Customer Service Agent (Current Employee) – London Luton Airport – 2 July 2018
I'm working Menzies Aviation at London Luton airport almost 2 years. Im enjoying every minute in there. I like meat new people everyday, chat with them, help them if they need help. Of courses we have up and downs in this job, but is worth it. We meat fantastic customers.
Airside Ramp Agent (Former Employee) – Manchester – 13 August 2018
Worked on the ramp at Manchester. Staff morale is so low due to long unsociable hours, poor rostering/allocation. Forget about a social life. Your hours will be all over the place and your body will be shattered due to the odd working times (0500-1400 & 2200-0200). Worst aspect about Menzies by far is the payroll. Very rarely will they get your wages right. don't even expect to be paid for overtime. Contacting them is a job and a half and even when you do manage to get through, they are absolutely useless. No extra rate for bank holiday or overtime, all paid at normal rate.
physically challenging, terrible hours, no overtime payment
Push back driver (Former Employee) – Heathrow Terminals 1, 2 & 3 Station – 26 June 2018
Good lads to work with on the ramp. Management dont have a clue! Under staffed everday. Under paid over worked no epuipment and treated like sht. Its all about whos as you can lick most to get a promotion in this place.
Customer service agent (Current Employee) – Heathrow, Greater London – 24 May 2018
learnt about different places learnt about new cultures hardest part of the job was telling families they cant fly a typical day at work was checking in bags and checking passport and going to board flights
Baggage Handler (Former Employee) – Manchester, Greater Manchester – 19 May 2018
I managed 2 weeks before I left, run poorly, when you first start you get a white pass and have to be escorted everywhere only no one wanted to look after you so you got dumped on a belt and left there for all you're shift, no real training given, unsafe environment all round, if an agency try's hire you don't let them they rip you off from the word go! Good job for young lads who just wanna get on with it but if you are looking for career progression look else where.
Fun industry to work in if you can handle the hours but unfortunately the management team has always been selfish and only focused on their work. Also they get rid of a lot of people with disabilities and long-term health conditions
I worked here for several years. If it wasn't for the lads on shift the place would fall apart. Management don,t have a clue and will stab you in the back in a heart beat. Morale is low with low pay and poor shifts. It could be run a lot easier and efficient if there was someone in charge who had a clue what he/she was doing and understood what the ground team where dong on a daily basis. Plus side was the team i worked with hard working and had a laugh to get through the shift
company that only see you as a number not a person
PSA (Former Employee) – Gatwick Airport Station, West Sussex – 17 January 2018
The overall working conditions are poor, as a PSA I didn't get the support that I needed , They rather put me out of the way due to my Bipolar. I wish that they had a better work life balance but the higher management are oblivious to this and rosta times and days all over the place eg 03.30 start till 12.00 one day next day 06.00 to 18.00 then 05.00 to 15:00 then back in at 03.30 and finish at 15.30 so your body has no idea what going on.
This is an OK job with slightly above minimum wage pay. The money is not fantastic but can be increased if you stick it out and get trained up although this is inconsistent.
The hours are very unsociable and you will be required to work weekends and public holidays with no extra pay.
Despite this, there is a good working environment most of the time and it is usually enjoyable. It is not for everyone but those who have been there for a few years seem content with its ease and familiarity.
Good fun with fellow colleagues, Not generally busy during winter months, Relatively easy job, Easy job to get
Poor pay considering unsociable hours, Earlies - starting at 5am, Inconsistent training, No extra rate for working nights bank holidays or christmas etc, High turnover, frequently have to point out errors in paycheck
The guys you work with are a great laugh day in, day out. Management are an absolute joke with no training on how to actually speak to another human being. Lack of equipment constantly and it's always your fault there isn't any, not theirs. Staff continually try their best but that's never good enough to the jumped up former ramp agent managers who forget where they came from!
Great laugh, time goes quickly.
Underpaid, overworked and no respect from management.
Ramp Agent (Former Employee) – Manchester – 31 December 2017
You are trained in the basics firstly then thrown out on the ramp for slave labour type work environment. Your pay is low and always wrong if you get paid at all manegement don’t care and don’t help if you have pay related problems even the airlines don’t like Menzies
