Very poorly run
Baggage Handler (Former Employee) –  Manchester, Greater Manchester19 May 2018
I managed 2 weeks before I left, run poorly, when you first start you get a white pass and have to be escorted everywhere only no one wanted to look after you so you got dumped on a belt and left there for all you're shift, no real training given, unsafe environment all round, if an agency try's hire you don't let them they rip you off from the word go! Good job for young lads who just wanna get on with it but if you are looking for career progression look else where.
Pros
Some of the staff

Passenger Agent (Former Employee) –  Luton Airport8 April 2018
Fun industry to work in if you can handle the hours but unfortunately the management team has always been selfish and only focused on their work. Also they get rid of a lot of people with disabilities and long-term health conditions
Pros
Fun
Cons
Unsociable rotating hours

Dispatcher - British Airways (Former Employee) –  Edinburgh Airport20 March 2018
This company couldn't care less about staff if they tried. They allow bullying to take place and believe it is suitable to treat there staff like slaves

Company has a very high turn over of staff and even loyal members of staff eventually leave because they are that unhappy

I would never recommend anyone to work with this company especially in edinburgh airport

5 on 3 off plenty of time to do what you want on your days off, the work is bloody hard to start with but you soon get used to it, working in a set team of 4 helps you get to know how each other works

The lads make the job
Ramp Agent (Former Employee) –  Edinburgh Airport15 March 2018
I worked here for several years. If it wasn't for the lads on shift the place would fall apart. Management don,t have a clue and will stab you in the back in a heart beat. Morale is low with low pay and poor shifts. It could be run a lot easier and efficient if there was someone in charge who had a clue what he/she was doing and understood what the ground team where dong on a daily basis. Plus side was the team i worked with hard working and had a laugh to get through the shift
Pros
Great team to work with
Cons
Poor management, poor pay, turn around of staff

Ramp Agent (Current Employee) –  Gatwick Airport Station, West Sussex7 February 2018
If you can handle early starts and late finishes then you`ll do ok. Lifting heavy bags is a daily requirement, you will get hot and sweaty in summer and cold and wet in winter.
Pros
pay is reasonable
Cons
shift work

company that only see you as a number not a person
PSA (Former Employee) –  Gatwick Airport Station, West Sussex17 January 2018
The overall working conditions are poor, as a PSA I didn't get the support that I needed , They rather put me out of the way due to my Bipolar. I wish that they had a better work life balance but the higher management are oblivious to this and rosta times and days all over the place eg 03.30 start till 12.00 one day next day 06.00 to 18.00
then 05.00 to 15:00 then back in at 03.30 and finish at 15.30
so your body has no idea what going on.
Pros
Good Supervisor
Cons
The shift patterns

Great people to work with but the pay and other aspects let it down.
Ramp Agent (Former Employee) –  Luton Airport15 January 2018
This is an OK job with slightly above minimum wage pay. The money is not fantastic but can be increased if you stick it out and get trained up although this is inconsistent.

The hours are very unsociable and you will be required to work weekends and public holidays with no extra pay.

Despite this, there is a good working environment most of the time and it is usually enjoyable. It is not for everyone but those who have been there for a few years seem content with its ease and familiarity.
Pros
Good fun with fellow colleagues, Not generally busy during winter months, Relatively easy job, Easy job to get
Cons
Poor pay considering unsociable hours, Earlies - starting at 5am, Inconsistent training, No extra rate for working nights bank holidays or christmas etc, High turnover, frequently have to point out errors in paycheck

Awful Company
Ramp Agent (Former Employee) –  Luton Airport8 January 2018
The guys you work with are a great laugh day in, day out. Management are an absolute joke with no training on how to actually speak to another human being. Lack of equipment constantly and it's always your fault there isn't any, not theirs. Staff continually try their best but that's never good enough to the jumped up former ramp agent managers who forget where they came from!
Pros
Great laugh, time goes quickly.
Cons
Underpaid, overworked and no respect from management.

Driver (Current Employee) –  London Heathrow Airport, Greater London5 January 2018
I also do not enjoy the long shifts as I feel the salary does not reflect the amount of work I do. No overtime or way of earning extra money, so need to change job
Pros
Nice people

poor salary for the amount of work

You are trained in the basics firstly then thrown out on the ramp for slave labour type work environment. Your pay is low and always wrong if you get paid at all manegement don’t care and don’t help if you have pay related problems even the airlines don’t like Menzies

Company sucks!
Ramp Agent (Current Employee) –  Manchester Airport, Greater Manchester5 December 2017
The typical work day isn't so bad if you exclude the fact management are awful, you often go a long time without a break! The people you work with are not so bad but not enough to make it a good company to work for. They just see you as another number, not a proper employee who they value!
Pros
Colleagues
Cons
Salary low, Management bad, Virtually no breaks.
