Wrong question. It is a loaded question this one. I would ask, what would you suggest to MENCAP management to stop the wrong types of people from starting at MENCAP?
Easy, get them to do trial shifts, at interview they all say, yes, I would love to do that. Yes I can do that, lets see them really do it before we let them join us.
It is brilliant, lots of news and updates. Great conversation days. Opportunity to get involved in lots of things outside of your day job.
Usually 7 or 14 hour day shifts with no lunch break. If you want to earn more money there is plenty of overtime as they are always struggling to get staff.
Our interview process is centred on our values and expected behaviours. We have a unique model which is called Inclusive Recruitment. The actual process can consist of structured interviews, assessment centres, multiple mini interviews and will involve a colleague(s) or person(s) with a learning disability.
In some instances a completion of a psychometric questionnaire may be required or competency based assessments.

Just awful, even the manager will talk about you and laugh about you behind your back. Very stressful environment with no support
Having to argue every month over pay. Don’t be a relief worker as the manger will lie you didn’t work the shifts and cross your name off the rota. Took 4 months to get owed wages.
