Under a new management direction following a re-organisation of the workplace, the company remains relaxed, fun, and yet ambitious. The legal team is small, but close-knit. The culture is unique and part of Mastek's strength.
Hierarchy throughout the place. No autonomy, and a dictatorship approach. Fear happens. Call you leaders if they want something.. The leaders in UK don’t exist anymore so unsure of who is driving UK strategy. More India driving their own agenda. Job cuts everywhere in the UK because of costs. But they spend lots of money on the Quarterly meet. Big event in India, but we have to watch it while the senior managers (they’re not leaders) eat and drink and spend our hard earned money. Could have saved jobs instead of all global management team staying in the Leela, 5star hotel. Lots of employees left HR. Must have high turnover just in that department. Makes you wonder how stable the business is or who is managing that team. They are good people. HR dont make decisions without sign off from global HR head, Global Finance Head, and anyone else they wish to add to slow down process. No automation used in the company. All manually handled. CEO is out of touch with the actual culture.
There are lots of good people in Mastek but the company as a whole is struggling to find a strategic direction. There's a desire to be seen as a UK rather than Indian software services company and to grow at above market rates yet decision making resides in India and the level of investment is insufficient to meet the Board's growth objectives.
SPOC for UK work permits filed from offshore and extensions filed within UK (Tier 2 ICT and Tier 2 General) and Dependents. Liaison with Home Office account manager British High Commission (BEP). Liaise with external legal service providers where necessary for enquiries on points of immigration policy and law or giving any assistance with the submission of applications Manage checks conducted by Compliance Officers from Home Office Ensure timely closure of cases received on internal visa application for successful CoS Assignation Monitor and maintain details and documents for all sponsored employees active in UK Payroll as per record keeping obligation Support GEO based employees for initial application and stamping of UK work permits Stay updated with relevant legislations in United Kingdom, consider impact on the organization from HR and employer perspective to recommend appropriate action and update internal processes Maintain real time Local, Resident and Expat data for employees on UK payroll Access and report on information flow changes / updates on various internal applications (employee portal, transfer management system, travel authorization system, exit management system, resource assignation system etc.) Maintain real time Local, Resident and Expat data for employees on UK payroll Trigger Monthly compliance related mailers to UK & USA Issue cover letters for business visa applications across entities for applications filed within UK Handling all types of USA visas such as Business, H1/H4, L1/L2, Responsible for all - more...
