People I had worked with for 2 years were turned down promotions for someone who had worked there for 2 months, all because the newest person wanted to leave. Managers don't sign off on your relevant training so you stay at minimum wage for as long as they can keep you until Head Office flags it on their system. Managers slag you off as soon as your back is turned and take no responsibility for failing inspections, blaming staff that haven't even worked in the building for more than 5 minutes. The staff turn over is shocking. You meet about 10 new people a month and then never see them again.
1st interview, you should always dress to impress with a suit. 2 stage and further, smart casual, nice pair of jeans with shoes, shirt and possibly jumper over the top.
What would you suggest Marstons Plc management do to prevent others from leaving?
Pay more than the minimum wage considering they're a multi-million pound company. Make sure that when they're throwing up all these new pubs within months, that the building actually stands properly e.g. rain water leaking in through the lights and fire exits, extractors in the kitchen that don't work, NO AIR CON in any building
I was on a zero hour contract as all staff are but ended up working 50-60 hour weeks because they were so short staffed and had no one to cover shifts. Expect to have a non-existent social life.
