I have previously worked for Marie Curie,and the Palliative environment can be one of the most challenging,but rewarding environmental to work within. NB if you are looking to enter this amazing organisation the best piece of advice I could give is work on the basis that you could be a patient or relative and treat your patient how you would like to be treated.# dignity in care.

Now only do 3 days a week, Tuesday 9 30 - 2 30, Friday the same & Saturday 9 - 3 30. Of course these can change (may work a hour more when needed)

Yes they do require background cheacks. As a volunteer I had to fill out a DBS cheack which too about 2 weeks to process

They may give you senarios such as, Arriving at a patient's home to be faced with an angry family member who is under the Influence of alcohol and how would you deal with the situation ?. They may ask what your definition is of palliative care ?. Just remember everything is about patient rights, choice, respect and dignity.
