Customer Assistant (Former Employee) – Lancaster – 12 July 2017
It was a pleasure to turn up to work at a place like Lush, the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The management team on the whole was excellent, they would set up daily challenges and games for staff to complete for prizes. Always updated staff on the daily goings on (earnings, etc) to keep morale up.
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) – Luton – 3 July 2017
Working for LUSH was an amazing experience for a first job. The work ethics were good - their animal testing campaigns overlapped perfectly with my courses at college and university. I thoroughly enjoyed going to work every day and learning new things on the job, and the team were very close and we would socialise outside of the workplace all the time, it felt very much like a family.
Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) – Poole, Dorset – 29 June 2017
whilst the work at digital fulfilment is enjoyable some of the team leaders are incompetent and purposefully detrimental and the management seem not to care one bit. the general staff are nice and friendly but as previously stated most of the higher ups are usless.
You would have thought working in lush would be fun - -as a customer you get treated really well,, as an employee.. not so much.
Yes you get 50% discount but the insane amount of pressure they put in you to speak to customers who frankly just want to browse in peace is, frankly ridiculous.
Think 1984 dystopian world if you want to work here - v.micromanaged and you weren't allowed to talk to your follow colleagues if it wasn't in some way directly related to lush - I worked there for a while and still didn't know a lot of names.
They put the customer so far on a pedestal it's ridiculous - we are sales assistants not robots
Also, they promote individuality 'be yourself etc', but unless its their own sort of individuality. I couldn't act or be myself when I was there
Friendly staff / 50% discount / Good amount of training
Good variety in pace of work. Heavy Lifting required but only to your personal capabilities. Amazing opportunity to engage with customers and help each individual to achieve the best result for them with what tools you have.
I only stayed with Lush for a months or so, but from what i experienced the hours were very long, however the other workers were very nice. The shop would get very busy and sometimes too overwhelming for them to put us out there as a new empoyee without much experience. I also had to learn too much information for such a short space of time, which i found very difficult as i have dyslexia. However as a whole it was fun to work there.
Supervisor (Current Employee) – London – 6 June 2017
Lush was a great place to work and everyone there is very friendly. I learned a lot about how to manage a team efficiently and effectively and how to give helpful feedback to staff. The atmosphere among staff is always very positive and friendly. At Christmas the shop gets very busy and can be very stressful to provide the level of customer service expected by the company. It is however a great place to work with lovely people and great ethics.
Sales Advisor (Former Employee) – Brighton – 3 June 2017
The work day would consist of moderate flows of customers with floods between 12-3 most days. You learn a lot about ethics and ingredients as well as their benefits. Management can be amazing if they have a confident team, if not it can fall apart. Hardest part of the job was christmas times when there would be no space anywhere to move. The best part was the time you were allowed to spend freely with customers.
