At Londis I worked one day a week as a Paper Delivery person. This is a very useful job as it gives me an income to afford small things such as a day out or a present however I work the hours of 6:30am to 8am which can be tiring. It is definitely worth waking up early for the money I am being paid.
A typival day at work was serving customers, deliveries etc. I learnt good management skills from this role. The management was good at this job. The co-workers were ok to get along with each day. There wasnt a hard part of the job. The enjoyable part of the job was working on the tills.
Paper girl (Former Employee) - Exmouth, ENG - 21 March 2015
it was great to get out of the house but it was early in the morning.
but the salary only bought me a loaf of bread and a pint of milk in that shop. the next shop was the co op which was a half an hour walk!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its a 20 hours job.Having passion to do this job as I'm happy to serve customers.Having good skill in handling customers.A good team work among us.Helping each other all the time. The hardest part was the communication if they do not talk in English.Yet I have tried my best to make them happy and get things done. The most enjoyable part of my job is when i receive compliments from my customers for handwork and when you get a good team to work with.
I worked at Londis Supermarket for 5 months and I had some good experiences and some bad. I had fantastic colleagues that helped me with my training. I had a poor salary that was under national minimum wage. There was no health and safety in the staff room. My hours were not secure and I had to do jobs that were not part of my role.
Free Lunches, long breaks, Great colleagues
Poor management, Poor salary, No health and safety, insecure hours
