Commercial Officer (Former Employee) –  Helensburgh, Argyll and Bute19 September 2018
the working pattern is a very attractive benefit of working at LM, but the hardest part of the job is working with in a slow paced business which is driven by working with the customer of MOD.
Pros
9 day fortnight

Very good company to work for.

If you are prepared to work hard you are well rewarded with benefits and salary.

The 9/75 working hours allows long weekends every other week.

I’ve enjoyed my time working with Lockheed, they have a great group of individuals (where I was working) and the environment is friendly, but I’m now ready for a change of direction.

Systems Administrator / Infrastructure Engineer (Former Employee) –  Havant5 May 2018
management are the worst you will ever find, imcompetent bullies. they lie to perms, contractors and customers. A culture of bodging to do things on the cheap.

Company is good, job culture not so great..
Systems Engineer (Current Employee) –  UK10 April 2018
The company has terrific benefits and flexible work times. The management are flexible, although often late to realise in office politics.
General culture varies; if you're favoured, its an easy ride. If however you aren't, be prepared for mundane tasking and constant school ground behaviour. This also impacts your advancement as well as training.
Pros
Excellent benefits, Flexible working, Management are reasonable
Cons
Culture is very bias, Advancement is not based on skill or ability, Little to no help in training

Security Supervisor Spec (Former Employee) –  Bedford29 March 2018
was a good place to work but there was a problem with the management and because of this there was a high turnover of staff HR was aware but did not do enough so the problem continued and is still continuing now.

it is a shame as it would be very good.

Wonderful Place to Work
Field Representative (Former Employee) –  Field Service Rep23 March 2018
Great place to work, but there weren't many availabilities outside of Afghanistan that I qualified for. I enjoyed the culture of integrity and hard work, the close relationship and level of trust developed between Lockheed and the military, and the political and innovative sharpness of senior leadership.

Intern treated like full member of staff
Computer Support Intern (Former Employee) –  Ampthill, Bedfordshire17 March 2018
Working day - Each day on the support team produced new challenges to be overcome. This created a team learning environment where each team members skills could be utilized to solve each issue as it came in.

Management - Easily accessible to communicate any issues with and always happy to help.

Hardest part of job - The work load of a large working site on a small support team means the hardest part of the job is managing work load. Making sure each job is completed in a timely manner while giving the best possible support.

Enjoyable - The team atmosphere at Lockheed Martin makes the working environment an enjoyable place to be.
Pros
Short working week, Great team members
Cons
Busy environment, Sometimes hard to find time for lunch

Could be better
Graduate Systems Engineer (Current Employee) –  Ampthill4 February 2018
Graduate Review

10 graduates hired a year so people to socialise with.

You will be lucky if you get 3 choices of rotation like they tell you, some critical business issue is likely to prevent that from happening at least once.

The pay is competitive though.

Company Review

Lots of clever and talented people on site, who are willing to help you and want to see graduates excel.

Seems to be a lot of "business critical issues" appearing out of nowhere, with not much time to solve them.

Also too much politics at play and not enough of "lets just solve these issues"
Pros
Private Health Care, lots of car parking space
Cons
Expensive Canteen, No free tea or coffee, dated buildings

Software Development Engineer (Current Employee) –  United Kingdom30 August 2017
Perks of the job heavily depends on your role in the project. End of project can result in redundancy if there are no other roles for you. Trade shows are good fun.
