The training is of a high standard and continual. It's explained on interview that you mostly work week ends, so not a surprise that during the season this is the case, but it is hospitality where most business is week ends. This can be a little tiring during the season but you get time back at winter. The physical work load is not high, but the standards are, which is where most of the pressure is. Lots of rewards and nights out, so can bring a social aspect to your work. Best I have seen of a company this size. Rota out 2 weeks in advance. You are expected to work most not all of the summer and take holidays at quieter times. Annualised Hours contract which makes your shift flexible. Best team I've worked with and great support by supervisors and management.
No work/life balance: told not to plan anything on days off and confronted when cannot cover shift at drop of a hat Supervisor incapable and resorts to bully tactics with young staff members to intimidate. Staff members known to be put in dangerous situations within workplace due to lack of organisation by superiors.
The only enjoyable part of the job is interacting with members.
Food and Beverage Assistant (Former Employee) – Luss – 14 July 2017
Hard work, long hours, minimum wage. Long shifts where your break is taken at the start of a 14 hour shift !!! Zero hour contract . Gratuities paid at end of season providing you work the whole season
Great place to work hard going but fun team to work with. Team work is essintial in a housekeeping department. Managment is fair but firm overal good to work for. The hardest part of the job is not knowing your hours are secure as it is seasonal and sometimes it is as and when required.
