Rude management, ignore any issues brought to their attention including health and safety. We were all told in staff meetings that if we didn't like anything we should leave, managers deliberately ignored radio calls if they didn't want to deal with a situation, leaving it for people being paid alot less to deal with. More reliable members of staff were forced to do alot more than others because the company kept hiring unsuitable people for the job but just ignored issues until their contracts ran out.
As a perk you get a magic pass so you have 20 tickets for merlin attractions after 6 weeks of work.

Managment were deeeply unsupportive of mental heath concerns of colleagus, negligent when it came to time off and organizing the rota for work, and lazy.

Really long hours, hard work, unappricated and constantly degraded by rude managers. Only benefits are the magic pass and some collegues are great. Avoid if you want to be treated like a human being.

The management here were very unorganised, with rotas only being handed out on average 4 days in advance of the start of the week. Would not recommend this as a good work place. Also a minimum wage for such an intense and stressful job doesn't help people staying in the job .

If you want a fun, exciting, career motivating, supportive workplace then I suggest you steer well clear of LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Manchester.
The management in this centre are a shambles. Certain areas of the centre are completely unsupported by management and left to pick up the pieces regarding guest concerns and health & safety.
There are major flaws in the health & safety and day to day running of this establishment.
There is no recognition or appreciation for going above and beyond for customers.
Please avoid if you want a life :)

Management treat the staff disgusting, they don't care at all... I would seriously work elsewhere than work here! It needs a big shake up of management and there approaches towards the team. Maybe being led by a bull in a China isn't best for this place.

Bad management that filters down from the top from long existing managers. Rudeness and laziness from some of the top managers.
Working downstairs meant the manager in charge of retail would come downstairs when a problem arose and blame staff in front of customers. Lack of respect for staff underneath him.

Be prepare to find children all day long, as well as dealing with annoyed customers due to expensive and long queues.

Working closely with sealife and all staff meant you made friends ealisy but I wouldn’t stay for a career at legoland. Ideal for part timers.

Low pay but magic pass allowed visit to all different kind of Merlin Attraction.

a typical day at work would involve completing mandatory paper work and cleaning. i learned how to manage guests and my customer service skills massively expanded as i am able to deal with difficult guests by resolving issues in a timely manner.the job itself i felt was not challenging me and was i was not reaching my full potential. i did enjoy being able to work with children and if given the opportunity would have stayed.

Poor management filters from the top to all workers -

Team leaders run the attraction with very willing team members. Management is the worst I have experienced in any company. Managers and Supervisors shy away and hide in the office leaving often younger inexperienced staff to pick up the pieces. Guests concerns are constant. Management changes almost every x6 months to a year so there is zero consistency leading to lack of progression for everyone else within the business. Merlin is expanding rapidly globally but not looking after existing hard working staff. Mistakes will - and do happen daily. POOR, POOR, POOR. Needs a complete management overhaul with experienced staff coming in and replacing - or worse - train the existing staff. Obtaining more than 3 stars on trip advisor is optimistic if the current working situation stays the same. Hopeing that more positive reviews will remove the original negative comments from its inception in March 2010 is the business's reaction to changing things around. Managers - GET OUT OF THE BACK OFFICE & ONTO THE FLOOR !!!!!!!!!!!!!

LDC is a great place to work. The staff are all friendly and everybody clicks together like a large family. The rewards and benefits such as the Merlin Magic Pass (Which gives you free entry to any Merlin attraction) and the in-store discounts are all amazing and are a fair reward for the work, however I feel that the staff are under-appreciated by management.
