As part of the role as a leisure assistant, you have to supervise and ensure the safety of the public in a swimming pool, prevent and respond to emergencies. You have to constantly be alert and act immediately and appropriately to ensure the safety of the public in the event of an emergency. You need to be able to provide emergency treatment and care as required until the arrival of the emergency services. You also have to maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times, as well as maintain a high standard of customer service. As part of the job, you also have to perform various maintenance and house- keeping duties to ensure a clean and safe facility. Being a lifeguard also required you to complete on- going training once a month. This involves keeping up to date with first aid training, maintaining CPR standards and using a defibrillator.

Was there to fix a particular issue so was only around for about 3 weeks. Lovely people, good working environment. Always felt welcome and people only too happy to help someone new in town. The food was amazing also.
