bad pay
Tyre Technician (Current Employee) –  Birmingham10 January 2019
A typical day at work depressing
management depends what centre youre in, 99% of management are power freaks, think theyre better than you.
workplace culture is good, amazing atmosphere
hardest part of the job is being short staffed on a regular basis and never getting any breaks,
the most enjoyable part of the job is home time at 6pm.
Pros
nothing
Cons
long hours, no breaks, bad pay, terrible management, over time dont get paid, lucky to get £20 bonus

Bad company
MOT Tester (Former Employee) –  Ashford, Kent20 November 2018
I worked at kwik fit in various centres in the South East.
Ashford being one of them I spent nearly 3 years there.
High staff turn over.
Pressure put on you to not have lunch and test all day.
Carry out re tests passed your contracted hours with no extra pay.
You will be told bonus Is great good luck spending your 40 pence as manager and ops take the whole pot.
Wages will be messed up every other month.
And holiday booking is very difficult.
Bad culture avoid like the plague.

Demoralising, no praise lack of leadership
Centre Manager (Former Employee) –  Warwickshire19 November 2018
Having worked here for 2 years plus I find the management are completely incapable of running a business, you have targets to hit which they say are a minimum to hit, you have to keep the place up to their standards so if you focus on keeping it tidy and a safe place to work you get it in the neck for having poor sales, wage for a manager is completely awful so much stress and pressure to perform for a wage you could earn in a call centre. Avoid the company at all costs if you love being screamed at down a conference call In front of your peers then this is perfect for you. Would rather work for an agency glad to be leaving.
Pros
When you finish
Cons
Long hours, management are idiots, meetings miles away from your house

No overtime pay. No life outside Kwik Fit
Service Technician / supervisor (Former Employee) –  Slough, Berkshire4 January 2019
Started as a service tech. Hourly paid works out to £19,500 per year. Promoted to supervisor and it went down hill from there. Asked by my manager to start at 7am for supervisor training and given centre keys. Made to manage centre two days a week so manager could have days off. Never got a pay rise but was moved from hourly pay to salary so they wouldn’t have to pay any overtime. Rarely left before 7pm. The more I gave them the less I got back. They don’t care about stuff or our family lives outside of work. All they care about is targets and sales. No breaks and no gratitude. Worst place I have ever worked. All they do is continue to rip off customers even after being on BBC watchdog. They pick on the weak and the needy.

Great for a first job
Tyre Technician (Former Employee) –  Sheffield21 October 2018
Good place to take your first steps in the industry but wouldn’t take it any further than that, little to offer going forward, less than attractive salary and little job security. Centre based managment can be helpful but wouldn’t expect too much from anybody higher up.
Constant push for sales without seeing any rewards for achieveing it along with staff being constantly moved from centre to centre it soon becomes stressful.
A company with a lot more potential and the funding to become what it deserves to be, however seems to only be on the decline.
Pros
Gets you started
Cons
Long hours, poor management, little security

Centre Manager (Current Employee) –  North East20 December 2018
After working for this company for many years I have found they exploit their employees, taking advantage of peoples good nature! You are not rewarded for the effort and time spent at work and there is no support from higher management. You are just a number and targets are all they are worried about!

Overworked And Underpaid
Assistant Centre Manager (Former Employee) –  Cheshire Various3 September 2018
If the centre's got left alone to do whats needed to be done then this would be a good company to work for.
its overly micro managed by operation managers that have sales backgrounds and no mechanical experience at all.
additional hours worked for no extra pay and expected to work through your breaks.
made to feel humiliated if targets are not achieved even if only just missed out with your job threatened constantly
Pros
Training Courses

Long Hours, Low Pay, No overtime and no breaks

Service Technician (Former Employee) –  London, Greater London3 August 2018
Its okie place to start up career like me with no garage experience background ( achieved level 3 IMI). Beginning, its kind of fun to work and get going with everyone in centre, later on i guess because of it so little reward ( like no double pay on public holiday) and a pressure from the manager to get sales , people start leaving and it'll begining double up your work loads. company training is good rated but will take you long time to progress .
Pros
sometime you lucky with easy Management team
Cons
so little rewards and time

Stay well clear from kwikfit
Service Technician (Former Employee) –  Annonimous25 June 2018
Overworked under paid.
No over time.
No bank Holidays. (Only Christmas day off)
Working full weekends.
Management (All) have lack of interest in employees.
Career progression very very slow.
Over priced products.
Hard daily and monthly target percentages/margins hence little bonus payout.

And to top all the above off:
Don't recognise held qualifications (NVQ's, IMI's) because its not the "Kwikfit way" so basically you may be NVQ Level.3 in Automotive mechanical engineer but you WILL be treated as an apprentice until you do all the Kwikfit courses.
Pros
Hardly any

working for kwik fit is one of the most cleanest companys i have ever imagined as a garage. the work shop has to be cleaned at least 3 times a day and also every night without fail. even if there is a job to be finished at 10 to 6 and it isnt finished by 10 past 6 the work shop would will need to be swept and mopped before going home.
Pros
clean uniform and representable.
Cons
having to work sundays every week.
