Great company
Personal Travel Expert (Former Employee) –  Sheffield, South Yorkshire29 October 2018
Really enjoyed working for and seeing the company grow. Good policies in place. Salary not in keeping with work expected and unfortunately the PRP scale is the same.

Senior management needs to take a different approach
Account Manager (Former Employee) –  London, Greater London23 October 2018
Extremely busy workload, once you prove you know what you are doing, you'll tend to get more work and additional responsibilities. Which in theory would not be a bad thing, but after achieving your goals and extending expectations, you don't get anything in return. No salary increase and no chance of promotion.
There are some great people working in the company, all very friendly..

Stressful, Understaffed and Bad company
Hotel Reservations Executive (Former Employee) –  London, Greater London8 October 2018
A typical day working at Kuoni was very stressful.

My day always started with a last minute emergency for the same day or the following day. Having to deal with several bookings in 1 day with and also cover any colleagues who are off sick, other offices that are struggling and manage your own work load.

This is too much. The management are rude and unappreciative. You get paid for working like a rag doll. I never once left the office on time due to last minute problems or requests, However did not get paid for this overtime.

Absolutely horrible place to work.
Pros
No pros other than being paid to cover my bills
Cons
Stressful, understaffed and Bad company

the manager is very rubbish
Customer Services Executive (Current Employee) –  London7 October 2017
who knows Japanese market well and doesn't know anything about Chinese market, always use her own experience to advised team to follow her, and completely not useful, slowly no any team would like to report issues to her, because of manager, the team is not cooperative, 1-2 team members are her ears and watch other teams in order to report to her. Its unhealthy work environment.
Pros
good salary
Cons
bad management

Overall: Disappointing
Personal Travel Expert (Former Employee) –  Birmingham, West Midlands24 September 2017
Pros:
- Some lovely people working for the company.
- Opportunities for luxury travel. They have educational trips and competitions to win holidays.
- Good induction process and support from head office.

Cons:
- If you are working for a Kuoni in a John Lewis store, the hours can be very varied. I had varied daily shift times within the same week, and varied days off creating an awful work-life balance.
- Lots of hours of unpaid overtime required (especially during peak sales periods).
- Lack of equality for sales staff. The distribution of telephone sales calls (on the Avaya system) has been set up to provide the top 25 sellers in the company with the majority of sales calls. When you need to hit your targets to gain commission this inequality is frustrating and unfair.
- The computer systems are difficult to learn and unnecessarily complicated. The main system, AS400, is a 1980's DOS system that desperately needs replacing. This makes the job much more difficult than it needs to be.
-There is a high turn over of sales staff at Kuoni. This should raise alarm bells for anyone considering a long term career move. The head office roles (non-sales) appear to have a much higher retention of staff.
- Problems rarely get addressed by management and you can be accused of being negative for pointing out any concerns. This leads to many work issues remaining unresolved.

Overall:
I was hugely disappointed by my time at Kuoni, it has so much potential yet fails to live up to this. If you are looking to get into travel sales, this does however offer a starting
more... point to gain experience but there are much better travel companies out there.  less

Constantly was going through a change as a company.
In general best place I worked, lovely people.

The hardest part of the job was seeing people get made redundant.

- workplace culture, if you are not italian, you will not be welcome
- the hardest part of the job - no training, maybe you will have training for 1-2 days, after, you have to be able to work as an old employee

Good company to work for.
Personal travel consultant (Current Employee) –  London, Greater London1 March 2017
Here you are treated as a person and not a number.
They look after you and managers keep you updated on the updates of the Company.
Kuoni encourages staff to take educational trips so they learn more
about the destination and is able to sell to clients confidentially.
Kuoni is happy to offer any training required by staff.

To be discussed.

This is something that I have never been asked to give and feel should be discussed at interviews rather than a very impromptu opinion.

A Typical Day at Work
Senior Contract Manager (Current Employee) –  London21 November 2015
The managers I work with are great, however its the senior Leadership I'm worried about. They decided on some very strange project then scrapping them later.
Now uncertainty are looming for the Staffs in London, the thing is outside people already know what happen but their own staff doesn't.

Poor ethic from the senior decision makers.
Pros
of all the Tour Operator, I believe Kuoni is still the one to be in.
Cons
to much uncertaintly now, also to muhc lack of information from decision makers to the staffs.
