Very supportive work environment and good colleagues, all team players.
Fitter and Turner (Current Employee) –  East London27 July 2018
A typical day at work revolves around attending to breakdowns firstly, should there be any, and carrying out planned maintenance and repairs on machinery that has been signed over to Engineering for maintenance.

I have grown a lot personally at JnJ as they have an excellent health and vitality program for employees.

Management provide good leadership and feed back with regards to what is happening in the company both locally and globally.

JnJ has a great work culture and promotes team work throughout the organisation.

The most enjoyable part of the job for me is working with a motivated team that strives to deliver the best maintenance service we can to production in order for the production guys to achieve the targets.
Pros
Medical aid and retirement fund paid in full by the company and is part of the TCTC

Being an account manager it may get lonely, but Johnson and Johnson have lots in place so this never happens and you always feel secure. Through a management culture of always putting the employees first, we hare part of a team, Always have helplines available to us to report anything we need to or as someone ego talk to.

unfortunately like any big company they are making but backs, this has been in the sales person commission scheme.

Associate Account Manager (Current Employee) –  High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire8 July 2018
Really lovely work culture, people are very friendly and the work is difficult but meaningful. It great being part of a company that touched so many lives.

However, due to to the size of the company, it is very slow to get things moving. There is a lot of compliance and red tape to get through and a lot of stakeholders who need to be engaged on every project.

Process Development Technologist (Former Employee) –  Blackwood4 March 2018
A typical day would be to support production departments to meet their targets with efficient processes. Always something to learn, whether technical or practical. A big emphasis is placed on job training, learning the skills required and also safe working practices. Staff and colleagues very friendly and supportive as are all levels of management.
A professionally structured company, environmentally friendly. Social life outside of work hours is good with friendly staff. An enjoyable part of the work was the development and investigation into processes using new materials.
Pros
Clean, professional environment
Cons
none

Company has changed a lot over the years
Manager (Former Employee) –  High Wycombe2 November 2017
The most enjoyable aspect of working for J&J is the people.

The least enjoyable is the fact that senior managers appear to have lost touch with their staff and are not held accountable for their decisions.

Unfortunately any ensuing changes do not take into account the effect they would have on staff morale, which is very low at the moment.

In terms of salary and benefits I would say that J&J are competitive and they are quite flexible when it comes to staff taking time off in an emergency.
Pros
Flexible working and excellent office facilities
Cons
ill thought out change

People dont leave organisation, they leave their managers.
So, the company motto is always good and ideal, but the people , be your supervisor or the people who are above you in organisation should be able to understand your propblem and gyuide you though.
Pros
Good office space
Cons
you don't know when you will be able to go home after work

Fair compensation & advancement opportunities for the right people
Digital Marketing Manager EMEA (Current Employee) –  Leeds15 February 2016
Fair compensation package with decent benefits. Advancement opportunities for those who put themselves in the right place at the right time, but not entirely done on merit. Company has a strong culture and philosophy i.e. 'the Credo' and there is evidence of it in use, though also examples of where it is completely ignored. Conservative, risk-averse and slow-moving.

Poor culture, lacking commercial balance
COMMERCIAL MANAGER (Former Employee) –  Leeds27 February 2016
J&J Medical UK has a highly sales focused culture, focusing on the top line rather than bottom line margin. Great if you work in sales, but for anyone with a commercial background, this means you take a back seat. The culture is highly geared to the sales teams, meaning other departments and back office staff are treated as the poor relations

PURCHASING OFFICER -ENGINEER STORES (Former Employee) –  Portsmouth, Hampshire12 February 2018
Working here was an absolute pleasure, everyone was made to feel part of a team all striving to achieve targets and achieving goals set.

The company believed in a credo that stated on plaque in reception,
"You are more important than the job" meaning they look after you, than you will look after the job, that really seemed to be the case.

Unfortunately worldwide restructuring meant closure of the Portsmouth unit.
Pros
Credo
Cons
Restructuring
