Can anyone give me a idea what the exams are like and a few tips for telephone and fave to face interview for PSA
Do your research and find out about the company. The selection day is ok and nothing to worry about. Just a presentation, a quick accuracy test and then a one to one interview. All quite pleasant. If you have any prior arrangements eg holiday or special occasion it's likely they won't be approved even if you get selected. Staff can try and swap shifts but there is I'm told a waiting list so you'll still probably have difficulty. I'm certain the work itself would be very rewarding but the inflexibility around time off is a concern.
Firstly you will have a phone interview talking about what your previous role was etc and what you know about the company so research!!!
Once you have passed this, you will be invited to an assessment day with about 10ish other people. The team leaders will do a short presentation about the company and go round the room asking everyone what your favourite holiday destination is and why (kinda an ice breaker).
Then you will have 15 mins to look through a sheet of paper about a passenger calling up to make amendments to their booking. You will then have a phone call role play of the above. The key here is to try to up-sell the customer with meal on board or extra room or allocated seating. I found myself asking questions like ‘how tall are you?’ and asking who the customer was going with and say it would be nice if they were all sat together. Make it friendly.
Then you will have a one on one interview about yourself and your hobbies etc. The questions i got asked were something like:
When have you gone above and beyond with a customer? (specifically)
Have you ever dealt with an unreasonable customer ? How did you handle the situation?
Thats pretty much it ! I got the job and I’m starting soon :-)
They ask what you know about the company
One time you have went above & beyond
What the role includes
The rest of the telephone interview is them telling you things about the role
They will ask you questions like:
- your understanding of the role
- will make sure that you are aware of the early start times
- any customer service experiences
Has anyone worked in the travel advisor-outbound sales? I've been told things in my interview but I'm relectant to believe that is has a success ratio of 1-5
You'd be correct my friend. Full of rubbish it's more like 1 in 15 !
