Rather a disappointing organisation
Sales Executive (Current Employee) –  Oldham, Greater Manchester21 March 2019
Lots of promises made including ‘we are different to the rest ‘and lots of empty acronyms.
They do not listen to their staff and have a very short term attitude to business, all about units and profit.
Long working hours with no thanks, just ambitious managers trying to get up the greasy pole.
Not at all the premium customer experience that they say they are.
Yes the showrooms are very impressive but ruined by poor customer service and management.
There has to be a root and branch approach to getting the right management structure in place and stem the very high staff turnover.
Simply not good enough on so many counts.
Pros
Shiny showroom, some great members of staff (but not management)
Cons
Management, broken promises, long working hours especially in sales

Academy Trainer (Former Employee) –  United Kingdom7 March 2019
By far an amazing company to work for! Great beliefs and culture! They have a passion for developing people and they have great rewards and values.

They believe in work/life balance and promote wellbeing throughout.

They do have the best training offerings around and deserve to be winning awards.

A Rewarding business to work for

Not good disheartened
Sales Executive (Former Employee) –  Towcester, Northamptonshire15 February 2019
Constantly ridiculed for being mature in age.No team spirit.Hardly any leads ! Leads given to a couple of people there. Not a good place to work if you are a woman and I have been in automotive sales for quite a while. I have never been treated so poorly! .No leadership. No level playing field.ts like the are not interested until the last day of the month. Most of the sales goes to a guy who has been there longer than the Roman road ! Who takes and I mean takes the sales leaving everyone else desperately looking for sales.Management allow this as they have no back bone !
Pros
nice customers
Cons
Boredom, lack of team leadership

Target Obsessed Management
Driver delivery (Former Employee) –  Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire22 January 2019
Worked for them for a year in two dealerships.
Some good management but more very poor and over promoted ones.
Targets set by people in offices completely detached from the shop floor and implemented by managers chasing bonuses.
Staff outside the management or 'favoured status' bracket treated poorly with little forethought for practicality or time, 'just do it' a common phrase used.
No or little career advancement despite the bumf, so glad to get out as were my fellow workers.

If your not making money for them they don't care about you, sales people pressured to sell even if the product isn't wanted or needed.
Pros
Can't think of any
Cons
Poor management

Avoid if you want a life, your sanity, expect to be a valued employee and take home a salary you expect want and as promised
Service /bookings (Former Employee) –  WM7 January 2019
Pros
If you love cars above all else it’s for you , if your main priority is Impressing your neighbors with a new plate car every 6 months and are willing to suck up everything else this terriblely managed company can through at you it’s perfect. If your desperate for a job , you are their perfect employee as you will probably do anything they say with minimal fuss... however if you have any intelligence have worked in global corporate businesses or run a buisness yourself do not expect this company to listen to you or value your ideas and challenge their way of doing things at your peril HR will be called in.

Great training centre , although to begin with expect the perfect company hard sell by the training staff but once last that it was great content in an impressive environment, dont forget JOLIP ....

Cons
Senior Management.
Middle management... as they are the seniors puppets and have little if no influence.. well not if they want to keep their management position or be promoted anyway.
The company and HR Could do with finding a whoopie cushion, example, of this finding new ways to raise money for their charity wizz kidz, I I was told that unless I could show a certificate of training and insurance I could not raise money by giving colleagues a well earned shoulder massage during a shift incase of injury .....
If your main focus is helping customers and doing the right thing ethically is your way of working this is the wrong company, customers are seen as problems, not to be believed and given minimal time and effort, this shows in customer feedback
Micromanaged
more... to an extreme and extent that is unbelievable in 2018 as much as it was unbearable.
Was even given advice and told what I could and should not do in activities and hobbies outside of work.
Bonus structure which was absolutely impossible to earn , as any small and insignificant mistake or error were to be found by management a rather large chunk was taken off your final bonus. Although it seemed certain individuals must make no mistakes as they always achieved full bonus even when you have come across errors in their work.
Contract which allows them to change bonus structure at any time with no reason and very little notice.
Lied at interview about salary mislead about potential OTE take home salary by around 7/9k pa.
HR they are brought in far to quickly , raise any or too many concerns related to job role and the HR team arrive instantly putting staff on edge as normally this is bad news.
Bullying culture is evident top down , you will be forced to do things you do not feel are ethically viable
Work home/life if you have a partner family it’s not ideal with long working hours , do not expect to have time off granted and do not expect starting early or finishing late to be valued only lateness by even less than 2 minutes will be noticed

Pros
Surrounded by cars I guess, Colleagues the ones that did not brown nose, pay better than nothing

Dont bother
Former employee (Former Employee) –  Milton keynes6 January 2019
They treat drivers as if they don't matter you aren't a person once employed by Jardines you are a number to them nothing more . They don't mention the big excess should you have a little fender bender in the job description . You're never appreciated but will always be reprimanded if you accidentally do something wrong . Management unfortunately don't have a clue how to run a transport company when it comes to hgv's .

Unacheivable targets
Technician (Current Employee) –  Manchester, Greater Manchester28 December 2018
Impossible to hit your targets, also expected to do unpaid overtime on the provisos of hitting your target to find you’ve done 40 hours for nothing. Good set of lads, but managers aren’t the greatest.

Glad i've gone.
Sales (Former Employee) –  Berkshire26 July 2018
Run by management who have little interest in staff
There were honest hard working individuals that made the place good.

Alas, sadly they've all gone only to be replaced by short term solutions that have little interest and have no interest in staying.

Selfish Techs, Greed induced service advisers driven by those above them who don't wish to listen nor have little interest in changing there judgement.

Car collection drivers in a no win situation who are constantly pressured.

Valeters for whom cannot understand what is expected of them and so therefore a never ending supply of inexperienced, non understanding workers.

And as for JOLIP. What???

You have to feel sorry for those who want to work in an alien feeling, sterile like atmosphere but are constantly let down.

It was a good place. I'm glad i'm out.

Cash rich, integrity poor.
Senior Manager (Former Employee) –  Midlands23 June 2018
Sadly, the carefully manufactured corporate image in no way reflects the culture that is entrenched in this business. This comes right front the top down. There are one or two individuals that try to do the right thing, however, almost without exception there is a lack of judgement, ownership, leadership and integrity. And, it seems the only thing they have passion for are accolades they don’t deserve. If you are genuinely in to doing the right thing and want to devote yourself to a great company and build a meaningful career, whilst being supported and treated with respect, Jardine would be a very poor choice. Don’t believe the hype!
Cons
Petulance at a very senior level.

Just Stress
Accounts Assistant (Former Employee) –  Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire7 January 2018
They draw you in saying they'll support you but, then stab you in the back.
You're given so much work you cant even breathe. You end up taking work stress home.
The pay is laughable.
They are ageist.

The only good thing was working with some amazing people

No Christmas party.

Retail Manager (Current Employee) –  Volkswagen Towcester28 September 2017
Very audit-intensive with a lot of time spent 'ticking boxes'
As with any large dealer group, there are good and bad businesses largely dependent on the management team running the individual site.
The company does have strong ethics and works accordingly.
Pros
Salary package is competetive
Cons

Not a place with job security
Sales (Former Employee) –  Birmingham8 September 2017
Worked for original company very successfully for a long time until Jardine took over. Within a short time senior Managers were forced out. Over the next year the rest of the sales staff were poorly treated and undervalued then the bonus' were messed with so most left. Recommend people go to work there so that they can appreciate how good other dealers are.

A great motor group
Sales Executive (Current Employee) –  Colchester, Essex14 July 2017
They care about staff, no I don't work in HR believe it or not.
I'm a sales exec in one of the groups prestigious brands their is a high expectation from the group and the manufacturers but then again we all strive to be the best we can.

Trying not to focus on the dealership and more the group I can honestly say they welcome you with open arms and your part of a big team with great benefits and they are always adding.

Salesman so work life is never going to be 5 star... or is it, the group is introducing something that could be great for sales people so yes I believe in the group.
