Awful place to work
Complaints Handler (Former Employee) –  Reading, Berkshire10 October 2019
Not allowed to talk, job is extremely boring and you get scrutinised for toilet breaks. No morale in the office whatsoever, I didn’t even know one single person on my team

Poor management and no opportunities
PPI Case Handler (Former Employee) –  Liverpool City Centre, Merseyside2 August 2019
The management have no idea what they are doing! You are only promoted if you are friends with the right people, being good at your job is not taken into concideration when promotions are available and then they wonder why all their good case handlers leave. Management will happily encourage case handlers to complete work incorrectly so that the bank extends the contract in order to rework the incorrect cases. Needs serious reform and contractors and banks should stay clear!

Intense place
PPI Complaint Handler (Former Employee) –  Chester24 July 2019
A very intense and pressured place to work. As a contractor you have no benefits or entitlements. The pay is very good however and is the main reason behind working there.

Poor management and working environment
Data Analyst (Former Employee) –  Reading, Berkshire2 July 2019
The pay can be decent for some of their contracts. However you will be threatened daily with not being paid and will be expected to work 14+ hours a day if required in order to complete the incredibly high volume of work set as a target.

The vast majority of management are either unqualified or unskilled in their role.

Decent pay

Decent company overall
Several positions held as a Contractor (Former Employee) –  Mainly Coventry and Birmigham13 December 2018
Generally good experience, do not ready you from one contract to the next, you have to chase them for opportunities. They do not always make you feel of value when finishing a contract as they are not in your final days offering you other opportunities, even if they say you've done well.
Certain figures within the corporation only project the company values when senior figures are present, otherwise are pretty disengaged.
Overall a positive firm, however you'd feel a company that asked us to take a reduction in day rate, mid-contract, explaining that it was for longevity, would then wish to repay your loyalty. That's a lesson to take away from contracting in general possibly but definitely my experience with Huntswood.
Pros
Consistant in setting up start dates
Cons
They paint a picture of commitment and solidarity but it is not the case

very warm workplace
Finance and Compliance Auditor (Former Employee) –  Reading, Berkshire22 October 2018
This is by far the most welcoming company I have joined. There are so many benefits for your hard work and the company employs only the best! Huntswood is the only workplace ive worked in where everybody loves everyone!
The only negative is the social life balance as the job could be demanding a tough at times.
Pros
incentives, double pay, friendly staff, flexibility, high spirit
Cons
social life balance

Good pay but difficult targets
PPI Complaint Handler (Former Employee) –  Ellesmere Port, Cheshire1 October 2018
Good place to work and make a good amount of money as a contractor. Targets were hard to achieve and sometimes we had to stay after the shift to try and meet the targets.

Pay

Sadly ruined by nepotism
Case Handler (Former Employee) –  Reading, Berkshire18 September 2018
In my five years of experience, most business decisions made by HW go against common sense and consensus at the coal face. This is maybe because promotion at Huntswood is rarely based on merit, so managers are not necessarily the most talented people in the building. As a result of blatant nepo/favouritism, the morale of my colleagues seemed low for most of my five years there.

Excellent wage but little job security.
PPI Complaint Handler (Former Employee) –  Ellesmere Port20 August 2018
With the right shift the job can be really rewarding and the pay is excellent for what you do. Plus if you're in with the right crowd you can get a TL job pretty easily as there are always plenty of opportunities especially with the high turnover of staff.
Pros
Good pay, can offer excellent shift times
Cons
Low job security

Easy work but terrible environment
Complaints Handler (Former Employee) –  Reading, Berkshire10 May 2018
The work given is easy to complete and well paid considering the type of work however there is constant and unrealistic pressure to meet unrealistic and constantly changing targets.

Management are fundamentally incompetent and will only do the minimum amount they can to hold on to their jobs and do not care at all about the people under them. Advancement is based on who sucks up to the bosses most and has nothing to do with commitment or ability.

All in all the company uses and abuses its contractors and is a largely hostile and miserable environment to work in.

I would only recommend this company if you have a thick skin and know how to stand up for yourself.
Pros
Easy work for the wage
Cons
Everything else

Aweful
Case Handler (Former Employee) –  Ellesmere Port, Cheshire7 March 2018
One of the worst companies i've worked for.

Regularly reduced pay whilst simultaneously increasing targets to unachieveable levels.

Most people in management positions don't have the intelligence or ability to be there. For the most part, they are only managers due to being friends with senior management.

Very clicky place to work. You won't get ahead on merit, only on how much you suck up to senior management

Terrible management who only take care of their own
Case Handler (Current Employee) –  Andover, Hampshire21 February 2018
Management are terrible. Complaints made are dealt with unprofessionally. Various complaints have been made about one manager but operations managers like to protect their own rather than considering the people that have to work with them day in day out. People have been sacked for unreasonable reasons. Time away from your desk will be timed by your manager and counted as break time. In 5 years there have been 3 significant pay cuts meaning I earned £8k more back in 2013 when I first started. I would not recommend working for this company.
Pros
None
Cons
Pay cuts, long hours, toilet breaks counting as breaks, poor management

Great opportunity
Project Administrator/ Complaint Handler (Current Employee) –  Reading9 January 2018
I had a very good time working for huntswood, the management is very helpful and friendly, shortly everything you need from the manager to be. As it was a big office it was a lot of new people to meet and very lovely people which we managed to create a really good team with ability to help each other when needed. Only negative were unpaid holidays, lunch breaks etc, but it was only because the job was through the agency, I would definitely work for huntswood again if there would be an opportunity, I would highly recommend huntswood as a company.

BARCLAYS PARTNER FINANCE (Former Employee) –  Liverpool1 November 2017
I really like the efficiency with which Huntswood works, if you are a hardworking candidate then they will always try their best to place you in any outstanding roles they my have, and always keep you updated should new roles arise.
