Stressful and bad Managment
Store badly run. Training in all aspects were incomplete due to staff shortage. Managers clicked yes for all online training even if it had not been done sometimes. Constant feeling of dread as job became more about surviving the day rather than efficient running.
Pros
Team members were good company
Cons
Do not get payed on lunch break

Busy and ungrateful
I mean it's probably much the same in all retail sector but the work is demanding (heavy lifting), the store understaffed (the more you sell the bigger the staff budget), moral was not good

Great while it lasted
I worked in one of the outlet stores and was employed on a short term basis to start with. I would do mainly cashiering and returning items to shelves to start with. This progressed to increased periods working stock and the cash office. Apart from occasional blips I always left on time.

The management were friendly and helpful and the general air of the place was relaxed with friendly banter. The hardest part could be the difficult customers and getting assistance though most were friendly and liked a little banter.

I never really learnt all the computer systems fully as there was no need to. In the end I worked there for 20 months and never once dreaded having to go to work and would happily have stayed if they hadn’t closed the store. They did only pay majority of staff the minimum wage but There was never an issue with being paid if I worked extra unlike some jobs.

Had staff discount in other Homebase’s and use to love seeing the new stock come in, giving me ideas for my own home.

productive work place
At times relaxing but others can be fast paced when high volume of customers. evenings were quiet but midday had busy rushes of customers. Nice place to work and well managed. It can be difficult at times when customers expect more off you than you can give but patience is key.

Okay for part timers
Alright for part timers (e.g college/school students)
Shift hours are okay however management can sometimes be rude and unorganised, wouldn’t recommend for a full time worker as can be a bit stressful.

Clean and Efficient.
The management are terrible but that aside I would reccomend working here 100%.
If you get the opportunity then go for it and don't look back.

Everyone that worked with me were also awsome.

Fun Place to be
I wanted a full time job, but only part time was available. I had a cleaning job (from another company) to supplement my wages, but this was badly co-ordinated to link in with my regular cash registers job at homebase.

Hilarious
Such a fun work environment for me. It definitely depends on the people you work with when working at Homebase. I loved my time there before it was closed down and stayed friends with nearly all staff. Opening the store was a bit tiring since the hours were early and it's still minimum wage but if you have a nice work force then you'll definitely enjoy the job,

UNderpaid & Overworked
UNderpaid & Overworked.

Poor management asking for impossible tasks to be completed in impossible deadlines while expecting the staff to be happy to go above and beyond while being paid minimum wage!

Fast Paced and Fun
Homebase was my first job. It was a great as it meant I was earning money at 16. I got shown how to do most things but also had to figure out some stuff on my own, I took on a lot of responsibilities which i was happy to do until I found out I should have been getting paid more. The staff are what made working in Homebase so great.
Pros
Staff Discount, Great Staff Relationships
Cons
Long Hours, Underpaid

Horrible
Company is failing, management either doesn't care or hasn't realised. Pay is horrible and work is stressing. However overtime is plentiful as the company needs all the help it can get so if one is willing to work through sh#t conditions and fill their pockets I would recommend.

Standard Retail
Never not busy when you’re working here. Always have something to do. Customers need served all the time, so knowledge of products is needed but you pick that up through learning. Only negative is that nobody is specialised in anything and customers expect you know everything. Staff are lovely, shifts are not too long and pay is decent.

Well planned and managed operation. Always able to use humour as an outlet when needed.
Dhl homebase ,was, overall a good company to work for. There were plenty of opportunities to learn more skills, which were relevant and well presented. Whilst the operation was always treated professionally and efficiently, there were regular opportunities to get involved with social events as well as voluntary work for good causes
