The only guaranteed day off you get is Christmas Day. Still open Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, and you usually have to work at least one of those, unless you get taken for a mug and work either 3 or all of them. You'll also never finish on time because it is so busy you can never get any work done. They don't allow you to take any time off in November or December so don't make any plans because chances are you won't be get the time off to go to them.
Only christmas day and boxing day due to the store being open the remainder of the holiday period.

I’m the Whitehaven store our manager doesn’t let us have any time off in December.
Christmas is a really quiet time in retail, so plenty of opportunity to organise time off to spend with your family & friends. Just get your request in by November and your understanding store manager will easily accommodate.
This is retail, just look at all the morons that go shopping on public holidays, that is what you are catering for. Until society changes from being so superficial, treating shopping as a religion, you will be required to work serving them.
