We're so proud to work with support workers like Angela, who saved the life of someone she supports recently. When she noticed someone had choked on his food, her training kicked in and she was able to perform lifesaving first aid. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Angela said: “When I noticed the person I was supporting struggling, it was just instinct to take action. My first aid training from when I first started at Hft came flooding back and I didn’t have time to hesitate – if I hadn’t done something the consequences could have been grim. Since becoming a support worker in 2018, I haven’t looked back. You never look at the clock in this job. If you’re thinking of becoming a support worker, all you need is a positive attitude – it doesn’t matter what career path you’ve taken before.”

A big well done to Anne from Cornwall, who has raised over £1,000 for @macmillancancer by taking on a sponsored headshave! After fundraising for several months, Anne braved the shave at the pub where she works, with friends and customers watching and cheering her on. Not content with one good deed, Anne also donated her hair to charity! 💇‍♀️💫

Santa and his elves came to Flintshire last weekend, where an Hft Christmas Fair took place. Held at Hwb Cyfle, our new day opportunities service, the afternoon was complete with stalls, festive foods and stories with Santa! Best of all, the event raised £1,400, all of which will go towards supporting people with learning disabilities to live the best life possible. 🤶🏻🎄 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

This festive season, members of our friendship and dating service have been getting creative by entering a competition to design Luv2meetU’s very own greeting cards. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
After careful deliberation, four winners were chosen, who have now had the chance to see their designs brought to life in a range of limited edition cards. Robert, who designed a winning card, said: “I decided to enter as I thought it would be a nice thing to do and I might have a chance of winning. I enjoy Christmas because it’s a celebration of Jesus, enjoying our meal and being merry with other people.”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
All proceeds from sales of the cards will go towards our friendship and dating service, which runs events and holds outings for people with learning disabilities focusing on increasing confidence, having fun, making friends, and sometimes even finding love.

It’s great to see staff at our offices and services supporting #christmasjumperday today! 🎄🤶🏻✨
