It depends on your role. My 4 years at HSBC have generally been 35-40hour weeks. Obviously during busy periods I may work 9 10 hours a day but no ones ever questioned my 5 6 hour days either.
Does HSBC require pre-employment background checks? What kind of background check does HSBC do and how long does it take to complete?
Yes, depending on the role, but normally CRB, credit and university qualifications
Very bureaucratic. organisation is split into lots of different ownership functions making change very difficult to agree, coordinate and deliver. Spend more time in stakeholder meetings than delivering. anything involving IT will be expensive, long and very very frustrating.
Once you've passed the phone interview and are waiting for them to e-mail you regarding the face to face interview (I was told 21 days); do you receive an e-mail even if you haven't been successful, and if not do you just assume that you haven't been successful?
HSBC HR are notoriously known for how slow they are in processing anything. You will receive a response, but be prepared to wait.
No, they always ask but its usually not a proper requirement. don't let not having a degree stop you, experience is far more important
