No work life balance and asked to go all over the place, pay was never reviewed and just moved people around to save money. Only progress is if you are liked

Too many liars in management! Staff are not trained to do the job, Marketplace Managers haven’t got a clue about the job basics and people skills are non-existent.
Pros
Freedom to watch tv and use mobile phone at the counter
Cons
Low wage

15 years experience so i have a detailed and fair outlook to offer potential candidates. First 10-11 years it was a great company, coral offered fair wages and a fun working environment. Career progression and a job you were proud of with customers at the heart of everything. They introduced KPIs in 2017 and it completely changed everything. No longer was it ok to keep your retail customers and welcome new customers. It was all about getting them online or to spend as much as possible with strict targets on slots, new online customers, football betting on self service machines. The areas had a name and shame game so if you didnt force more trade you were shown up and performance managed by AM. HR do nothing to assist.
The bullying culture got steadily worse, i was in an area in stoke, alot of loyal long servers have now left myself included

Never get a lunch break, even though they take the hour off of your wage. This means you end up working for below minimum wage. Hours long, even though shops are dead they want you to stay open until 10pm in case someone puts 10p in the machines. Management do not have a clue how to run things. Very clicky and none of them last. Most customers are horrible and would sell their Nan for a fiver. Dailyaggressio. For the money they pay the responsibility is ridiculous. Constantly on about KPIs, encouraging gamblingproblems
Pros
Can watch TV
Cons
Customers

Enjoyed my time working for this company. Generally very helpful with Shift patterns and days off. Pay could be slightly better as we make and look after a lot of money for the company.
Pros

This is a good environment for sport lovers, but not for career progression. A lot of lone working and can feel vulnerable at times. Yet there are some great days!
Pros
A lot of down time

Long hours

Constantly over looked staff wellbeing, left far too long on your own. Expected not to take breaks but not be paid for that time worked. Only really care that shops are open and making money. Lots of clicks within the company, if you weren’t in with the right people you were basically forgot about. They expect you to do a managers job on minimum wage.
Pros
Colleagues
Cons
Poor wage, long hours

If you aren’t willing to give your soul to the company then don’t bother applying to work there
Ridiculous company to work for and surprising they have any customers left

High turnover of staff- says it all really

They don’t care about anything other then lining their own pockets
Pros
Flexible shifts
Cons
Everything

If you like yourself don’t bother applying. The worst management I’ve ever dealt with. Don’t give a toss about staff. If they don’t like you they’ll do whatever’s necessary to push you out, as far as telling lies about you, altering timesheets etc. Avoid at all costs.
Pros
Funny customers, cool colleagues
Cons
Everything else

a typical day at work would include all the regulars coming in to do there daily bets. i have learned alot since working for ladbrokes/coral like settling bets working out regturn manual;ly about GDPR they have alot to offer.
Managment touch and go depends who is your manager. the work environment is a quite warm and welcoming environment you could say like a second home if you will.

the hardest part of the job for me was the times that it went quite i didnt know what to do with my self time would sometimes go slow. the m ost enjoyable part of the job for me was the character that walk in no two days are really ever the same and tghe tips were amazing!

A customer oriented environment. You got to interact with people with different backgrounds. You learn a little everyday.
The workplace culture is multi-cultural.

The most enjoyable part of a working life is you got to meet different people and provide customer service.

Good place to work with good customers and staff, can be very busy and you have to work at a fast pace to keep up. Pressure is high to get bets on and you need high level of accuracy.

Fast paced job that required upskilling several times without a linked rise in salary. Most people were not competent so you'll end up doing half of their jobs too. Left due to stress.

Very fast paced environment with lots of quality people that are leaving due to poor management and off shoring and ultimately a venture capital approach to the business. Exceptional work life balance but can be demanding when the pressure is on.
