Engineer (Current Employee) –  Swindon, Wiltshire15 December 2017
Great place to work and some exciting developments on the route which are going to transform customers experiences. Lots of interesting opportunities to progress careers, make lasting friendships and be part of the one the biggest train operators in the UK.

Gwr
Classified (Former Employee) –  Milford House Swindon18 November 2017
Great Western Railways pushes its management to an early grave they change direction every two minutes and are not concerned for the wellbeing of its management team unless it suits them.

They have a very good public face but underneath can be malicious and should never be trusted in truth. They regularly breach moral codes and do not despite all of their hype, are not interested in the customer.

In fact they will even threaten to prosecute you if you don't have a ticket just to ensure that the inspectors targets numbers are met.

The hardest part of working for them is the lies the management tell you . The culture is such that they will stab you in the back at the first opportunity and are only concerned for themselves.

as you may tell I have had a really bad experience with GWR and the comments are about the senior executive team as opposed to the staff who tend to be hard working individuals who really do try.

still have the scars and although pay is really good your health will suffer.
Pros
Free travel Good Pay
Cons
Long stressfull hours

Crew Delivery Manager from Customer Host (Former Employee) –  Swindon22 June 2017
Fantastic Company to work for and one of the few left who can still offer a job for life
My only regret was not finding them at 16 not 45
They offer a career and there are many paths to chose from office to train and any one wanting to build a life within the company has a great opportunity
Pros
Career with advancements
Cons
Will let you give every waking moment if you're not careful
