This is a long and painful experiance. GSK use First Advantage (outsource provider to does the pre-employment checks), who incidentially will NOT tell you anything or provide updates on the process or progress.
They insist on bank statements and a whole lot of information which is very private.

A long , hard and soul destroying experience.

Most production staff start as temps, that was through Randstadt when I was at GSK. I don't know what checks they do; when I joined as a temp through Manpower there was no security check.

Once you are offered a full-time job, there is a background check
which is done by an outside company. Some of my colleagues were waiting 3-4 months for them to complete the process (this only meant they were stuck as temps before given a full-time job, they weren't kicked out while the checks were carried out), No idea how deeply they dig, I joined long before this company were given the contract.
