Unless your a EE you won’t get work
Not one single offer in 4 month , despite adverts stating jobs for class 2 drivers

Pay is well below for class 2 anyway

Stay away ( not that you’ll get work anyway )

ID picture was taken without a plain background, looked useless, when they had plenty of white walls in their office!

Nat min wage ain't a living wage, if you are married, own home, kids out-goings, etc
Pros
local work
Cons
short hours, as many people on that shift

I would not work for Gi Group in Leicester at there work for fixing mobile phones as the place is full of back stabbers. With the COVID-19 they say keep your distance but when u working they are right near u the management would take 3 days off to go to Poland and just comes back to work with out self isolation to there self do not care about your safety at all the people that work there talk to u like dog poo

So, to begin with, i turned up for an induction and me and my friends names were not on the list. The awfully rude security guard told us to “clear off”. The matter was resolved and then induction was dragged out for 8 tedious hours, sat in a classroom and doing food safety & health and safety quiz’s. We got given the answers. Not in those 8 hours did we get given ANY training whatsoever. The next day we were called in for our first day. As soon as we got kitted up, we got slung straight onto production line. NO ONE speaks English so when i asked what was the task, the workers looked up and down at me and ignored me. When put on other stations line managers would shout and mimick you if you did or said anything wrong, not even knowing it was your first day and you had NO TRAINING. Also, when they speak to you, its in their own foreign language, they just assume you’re not british! My break was at 7:45 for 50 minutes ( 1h45 into starting????????) and no one had told me it was 50 minutes long, so i went back to the factory from the canteen after 15 minutes and assumed we had a break at lunch. Once getting back kitted up and in the actual factory, someone had told me i shouldnt be back yet as my break was no where near finished, but theb told me to just stay standing around thr factory instead of going back. 1 break of 15 mins is not enough. Even having a 50 mins break an hour into uyour shift is against the law, as not having other break, as being made for 6 hours straight!!!! Avoid avoid avoid. The line managers all need sacking. Also, VERY UNHYGIENIC

I decided to look for a job as I was stuck in a situation where I was being bullied in a workplace and wanted out as quick as possible wish I had not bothered. I got taken on by this agency they do not interview you so you have the job no matter what you just fill in a form. I started in a chicken factory in Scunthorpe for the 2 sisters food group and I have to say I was appalled. I was given some cheep wellies that made my feet very sore and blistered by the end of the day. I was put on a station in the factory which effecting my wrists as I have carpel tunnel I was in so much pain. I was moved to serval stations within the factory as I kicked off big time saying I am so much pain I need to go home they then said to me no you cannot go home we shall move you somewhere else, all these different departments made no difference and they still refused me to go home I nearly walked out but forced myself to stay as that's who I am as a person. the communication is very poor and no one really speaks English and its a long day when your suffering and no one talks to you. I was told day before I started my illness and injury's would be taken into account and would have light duties I guess not. I also got lots of cramp in my feet and toes due to the poor quality of the wellies and the dampness in there which I know it has to be kept cold but they don't take care of the staff at all. It was my first day and I had no training what so ever and then was yelled at for doing stuff wrong etc. I was told to go on my break which was 50mins long, the agency was kept hold of my phone and purse - more...

Worked at Lear for around 2 months. Was let go as part of a headcount reduction even though they needed staff. Funnily enough it was the day before the COVid lockdown. Surprising that. Guess they didnt want to pay furlough is my guess. Or my face didnt fit was another. Its basically running round getting parts for car seats from the warehouse. Some of the staff there were great, some meh

Signed up with GI for extra work. Asked me to do an UNPAID assessment on 2 occasions however was working elsewhere so couldn’t do. The lady at Leeds then said I was unreliable and then contacted agencies I was with to try and blacklist me stating I was unreliable. Very childish and unprofessional. AVOUD this agency.

Treat you quite well despite being an agency worker. They work with you in order to help get a position that will suite you well. They don't skimp on training.

I can begin to describe the ineptitude of the GI personnel responsible for our safety well being and pay. The self righteous condescending attitude treating us not people but as a commodity that was expendable. I worked at the mobile phone warehouse for over 6 weeks in that time I never recieved a single payslip or email to inform me what my pay and tax were I asked several times and was promised I would get one. When the company had it's culling session I was one of those let go I asked again for payslips which I am legaly entitled to and yet again got an empty promise after phoning them twice in one following being culled and the following week still not having received my week in advance or holiday pay no P45 and another two wasted phone calls I ended up going there in person and had a very heated meeting with an agrogant jumped up GI representative who yet again made a promise that I get all the things I came there for to which I responded with saying not leaving until I do got threatened with being escorted out by security to which I responded you are incapable of doing your job and you make empty promises both when applying for this job and throughout and instead of actually following through on your promise this time you threaten to have me removed by security now just how is that going to make you look when i post the recording i've made of this conversation all over social media at that point after refusing to give him my phone he began typing away on his keyboard and turned the screen around to show me that he had actually actioned everything my money and p45 would - more...

Worst thing that that could have happened to the jobs market is agencies came out of the Thatcher era. Nothing but exploitation of humans no rights or unions.Should be outlawed

I do NOT recommend working at GI Leicester. Management sucks, numerous wrongful warnings, threats from teamleaders. Office does not embrace the company at all, but requires miracles. None of the machine operators has undergone full training, everyone is self-taught, everyone must learn how to use and set-up the machines by themselves. Working on a stacker can be boring (depends on the letters), sometimes not. Teamleaders are two-faced, same as the whole office + few co-workers. At least the unit is warm (without chiller) :)
