Shifts are chaotic and horrible, they will make you ill. There are requirements to work all hours.
OK but the environment is slightly cramped
The strangest thing is that you do not have a set limit of hours: the contract is for 37.5 hours per week but people are bullied into staying overtime (until the job is done) every single day and shouted at if they refuse to do so. Totally illegal practices, not to mention that at the end of the shift everyone is so tired that the samples get processed with minimal care, just anyhow because everyone just wants to go home.
