Best company I’ve ever worked for
The company have many benefits, free lunches, massages, car schemes, chances to buy extra annual leave. There’s a lot of staff members but everyone gets on really well, from ward staff to support staff, to senior management. Theres a real sense of team work and community. You are supported to progress and there are options to complete NVQs. Enjoy it now as much as I did when I first started 12+ months ago.
Pros
Company benefits, lovely team to work with

It's usually a busy today within the environment. However, the staff are lovely and really easy to get along with. It's a great company and has provided me with plenty skills.

Hospital Director
Hospital Director self management style is very controlling and does not allow his staff to make decisions. Friendly to your face but will go behind your back to get out of trouble. The rest of the team are nice, friendly and feel supported.

Horrendous
Enjoyed the actual job working with people with Learning Disabilities. However the attitude of many staff was poor. There is no support. Often put in dangerous threatening situations without back up. Management listen but don't action.

Unbelievably ridiculous place to work
This is where nurses go to die. Having spent over 20 years in care I can honestly say that nowhere else has shocked me so much for its lack of professionalism, care and its disdain for patient needs and staff safety. If your a dope smoking teenager with a high libido this is the place for you.

Staff are subjected to horrificly violent assaults and then management looks how to blame the victims so that they won't have to pay for time off. There's a culture of bullying that would be shocking in a prison never mind a hospital. There's an obvious drug problem that's ignored and you rarely get through a night shift without smelling cannabis. The younger staff dissappear for hours on end in order to cultivate and even consummate those relationships. If you report any of these things you are either ignotrllred or forced out. The patient's are largely ignored and neglected. Any concerns or needs they want addressing are fobbed off and then when the patient becomes violent as a result they are attended too which merely encourages the patients to be violent anyway.

Do yourselves a favour and avoid this place. When the virus dies down this place is probably going to end up on panorama. Awful place full of awful people but with the odd exception. Unfortunately the good staff have all given up and now just try to survive the day mentally and physically.

shocking
The patient are not given choices for meals. Management make bad decisions and blame everyone but themselves. If you get hurt you get no support whatsoever.
Pros
free meals - if they could make money available to get shopping for the patients
Cons
poor all round.

Please read and avoid
Elysium healthcare do not value their staff members. Staff on the ward and nurses are pushed to over their limits and it affects the patients and the whole run of the day/night. Working for elysium you are not a staff member you are a number that covers observations. You will work with unfamiliar agency staff who have no background of mental health/autism who are just placed on a ward without reading a care plan and expected to work these staff members do not know about high risk patients who have conditions such as dysphagia and have strict dietary needs such as mashed up/blended food, as the staff are unaware will give these patients hard solid food which can lead to choking and especially on nights staff have a maximum of 2 unqualified permanent staff members who are expected to run the ward. If you choose to work for Elysium please be prepared to have a late running break and expected to return early, you will be assaulted weekly if not daily and have no support or even be slagged off and slated for having concerns and being anxious about the incident, have no time to utilise the toilet and have no time for food or drink. On the job description Elysium looks like a great place to work however the 'wellness days' were you get a lovely hand massage/facial/treatments do not happen. The free meals are provided if you have enough time to eat. There is free parking however it is not secure and is not monitored by the hospital CCTV it is monitors by parking eye so only there for implementing fines is parked wrongly. Patients are neglected and simply needs like fluids can not be - more...

Progressive place to work
The company has many courses accessible to staff for personal development. No day is the same, every day is different with different challenges. There is a handover every end of shift which prepares in the coming staff of what to expect.

Excellent place to work.
Previous recovery worker at Ty Grosvenor Wrexham, worked there for 12 months. I would have to say it was the best place I’ve worked. The support of managers was great, treated as part of the team no matter what level you are at. The managers are keen for the staff to develop and will support you to do so. Would go back in a heartbeat if hours were better suited to my needs. Thank you for helping me develop my skills.

stressful workplace with BAD management
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. You are paid £8.50 a hour to work 7.5- hour shifts without breaks, as in you don't even have time to get a coffee or go to the toilet. understaffing is a real issue at Elysium and as a result several problems ensue. you are told there are benefits like free parking and food only to later find out this is a total lie, and you have no time to eat at work even if you brought your own food in. There is no staff support what so ever which makes employees feel less than worthless when paid minimum wage to be physically attacked with no time to even take 5 minuets out after an assault as there isn't enough staff to cover. You are then usually put back with the same client that just attacked you and are with them the full shift even if they keep attacking you because there isn't enough staff to swap with. The team leaders and support workers are the loveliest and kindest people I have ever met however the company exploits this. They rely on kind hearted people to go above and beyond everyday, to be physically abused and not complain about their safety and get away with awful pay. When you raise issues with managers they are instantly shot down with nothing done to resolve issues which have led to staff not feeling listened to. Staff morale is ridiculously low and dropped very quickly. For a new service that isn't even full yet things fell apart very quickly. There is high staff turn over which means clients are at risk as well as distressed at the lack of regularity. Management try and rush through candidates without a DBS check so they can do paperwork in the office - more...

Difficult to rate
It’s difficult to rate Elysium as a company. Each site is very different to work at with its own management team and because Elysium have acquired different services over the years, the culture can vary from site to site. Ask the variety in services is vast - from medium secure and PICU which are very fast paced and physically demanding to community based rehabilitation services and lone working - much slower pace but more responsibility. Thinking of Elysium as a whole company, there are lots of routes for development available and some great staff benefits - free meals, your birthday off, holidays increase with length of service, enhanced maternity package, wellbeing events, staff raffles and Christmas bonuses are all great benefits to working for Elysium. But the day to day work tasks, culture and management style can vary dramatically from site to site. The vast variety in services can be a challenge as the company try to standardise policies and procedures, but the “one size fits all” approach just doesn’t work when you have so many different types of patients to care for
Pros
Free meals, free parking, birthday leave, well-being events

Very stressful, too dangerous
This position is very underpaid for the stress of the position and for what was required. Patients can and do attack you at anytime, you have to be quick on your feet to avoid the attacks.

Terrible company, good money/career path
Management dont listen to staff, never paid my wages correctly sometimes missing over £600/month, facilities not very safe as they make out they are. Collegues where amazing, the job was rewarding but if your looking for a company who cares for their staff - this isnt where you’re going to find it.

Not what it seems
I was excited for this job, unfortunately not everything was true once joined. You’re not informed about the physical side or the constant stress. Patients are lovely to work with
Pros
Good pay, patients are lovely
Cons
Long hours, distrustful workers

Stay away
You are not appreciated as a healthcare worker. You can be left on the same observations for 4 plus hours with no one coming when you radio or press the buzzer, so no toilet, food or drink. The pay does not reflect the work put in. You are lucky to get your rota more than a week in advance so don’t know if you are on days or nights.
Wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone

If your desperate
If your desperate for a job then this is the place to go,
If not only go here if your happy being bullied, treated like dirt, a lot of racism goes on towards white British people.

The only praise I can give is the patients are so lovely with you but the staff it’s world war three all the time.

Also as well as low pay you also have to take an hour and forty five minute break during a 12 and half hour shift
