The staff are friendly but the work can vary. I signed up as a waiter after being a KP for a year. But gradually they've been shipping me back into KP "just the occasional shift" they said. Now i'm basically a KP.
The staff are great now. But something radical must have happened because after 1 year almost all the cooks had been replaced, i only recognised 1 of the 6 cooks/chefs.
The problem probably stems from up top. The owner and manger are two separate people. While they work together they seem to have overlapping influences that clash. However they problem seems largely resolved now and i would definitely recommend working here. As i've said the staff are great and the work isn't overwhelming unless it's really busy.
The Egerton Arms is a great place which i had my work experience at which showed me how to do many things from working side by side the chef learning techniques and waitering learning simple things from setting tables and taking customers orders while making sure i was always doing something if all he customers were seen to for example cleaning tables. All of this improved my overall confidence in working as a waiter and a preparation assistant.
