Work hard play hard
Operations Assistant (Former Employee) –  Oxford28 December 2018
Work hours can be long but the fast paced nature of the job means you learn a lot very quickly. If you perform well there are options for progression, the only downside being that most roles are temporary.
The workplace culture is great - everyone is very passionate about their jobs. There was a lot of after-work drinks and everyone makes an effort to socialise.

Host-family recruitment officer (Former Employee) –  Brighton11 November 2018
Good salary for a summer job however was often overworked due to lack of organization and lack of staff. The team are young and dynamic and helpful. However the office was quite disorganized e.g not enough computers (those that worked were very slow)

Customer Support (Former Employee) –  Waterloo Station2 November 2018
My last two positions at EF Istanbul and EF London, have taught me to go the extra mile and to get things done within a busy and dynamic work environment, especially during peak seasons. I possess robust administrative, project and time management skills, along with the ability to develop a rapport and credibility with clients/stakeholders.

Good company
Teacher (Former Employee) –  Winchester2 October 2018
Working with EF was great, it has the best recruitment manager and leading team there can be. The pay and hours are great, and the workload isn't terrible. Only issue is that the food is terrible, and you will live in residential areas with students where kitchen appliances don't work due to safety reasons, so you're stuck eating their horrible. This is recurrent in almost all their establishments in England.
Pros
Great career paths and progression
Cons
Terrible food

Tour Manager (Current Employee) –  London5 September 2018
Very supportive senior teachers and lots of online and physical resources. Hours can change last minute and terms are often unpredictable in terms of student numbers, which reflects your working hours.

Great summer job
TEACHER, EF (Former Employee) –  United Kingdom29 August 2018
A great summer job. Not too tiering, often quite fun. A very relaxed place to work but the management was so unorganised and the company is very profit orientated. Sometimes it was boring as you'd be teaching the same lesson all day to different classes.
Pros
Pay, some free stuff, sometimes you get free snacks, free excursions for staff, weekly staff socials, opportunity for overtime with activities, most of the children are great to work with
Cons
You have to teach from the EF course book which is really boring and tedious, the management is a mess and disorganised, the management also don't seem to care that much

Activity Leader (Former Employee) –  Bournemouth21 August 2018
Great fun and rewarding, but a lot is expected of you and the hours are very long. Management top down needs to be improved and there is a severe lack of training across all functions.

Activity Leader (Former Employee) –  Isle of Wight12 November 2017
Long Hours, Great Summer Job, Work with lots of good people. Required to work 6 days a week for a period of 8 / 10 Weeks, so is very tiring. Rewarding however, pay could be better. If you work out how much you are paid per hour, it is very low for the role we do.
Pros
Good Team
Cons
Long Hours

great oportunity and learning experience
Activity Leader (Former Employee) –  Oxford28 October 2017
I loved working with lots of different students and because everyone worked so closely over the summer period everyone became very close which made the demanding job easier. The unsocial hours were expected as part of the job but were rewarding at the same time. The management and organisation of the business were lacking from time to time which is also the nature of the job to some extent.

Worthwhile summer job for university students
Teaching Leader/ Cover Leader (Former Employee) –  Isle of Wight, Rookesbury, Newland Park17 October 2017
Education First is excellent experience for students, it involves one of the heaviest working days you will have encountered at that period in your life. The usual day is 7.30am until around 9.30pm but the day can be much longer, often starting earlier and not finishing till after midnight. Given the nature of the job this can be expected however if you are doing this for more than a few weeks it can start to take its toll. Your colleagues come from all walks of life from across Europe and beyond and are typically university students with the odd exception. The students are also mainly from Europe or China and you will often have to learn to manage the cultural sensitivities of each nation that you work with. Management is often very hit or miss with Education First, much like with your colleagues the management team is often very young and usually have little prior management experience. Their training usually does little to prepare them for what they will have to do and more often than not certain members will struggle leaving you to pick up the pieces and take initiative to deal with certain situations. Working in this stressful atmosphere can be challenging but once you buckle down and with the right support from colleagues and management you will really enjoy working at Education First. Interacting with the students and seeing them enjoy themselves and having fun with your colleagues is what makes the job worthwhile and knowing that whilst you are not getting paid nearly enough for the amount of work that you are doing, you are earning more in a short period of time then  more... you would doing another normal summer job.  less
