Worked on broadband tech which was challenging but rewarding. Management and team were very helpful and workplace had a friendly atmosphere. Some calls are difficult but training prepares you well for different situations.

Working for EE retail is great but I'll will never work for franchise again owner and SMT have no idea how the business is run I was the only Manager between 5 stores so i didn't know where i would be Day to day the pay isn't great either and they will always tell you that you can be replaced the targets are sky high since the franchise took over.

so anyone looking to Join EE make sure its a retail store not a franchise store

Whilst working for EE I felt as if you never did anything right and even if you did you didn’t get praised it would always be “could be better” it’s not somewhere I would recommend.

I spent nearly two years there, a very stressful and worrying two years. You are really just a number there and will be subjected to ridicule if you don’t fit in with others. I witnessed this on a daily basis. A horrible company with some very stupid rules. Only plus side to that dam place is that the canteen is cheap. If you suffer from any kind of mental health problems, seriously don’t bother as they will treble whilst working there. Stay away.

Good place to work, been here for 2 ywars now but you need to make sure you can handle working 12 hour shifts as it does start to drain on you. Otherise good.

If you do great in sales that means nothing if the rest of the store do badly. Was carrying the store on a number of occasions and didn’t get my pay I deserved.

Work Hard be Confident have some knowledge of Phones, Internet,sales. Postive hard working busy atmosphere but cant keep up and you will soon find it a nightmare. Reward driven (which does include pushing for sales, increasing plans ect) most calls negative or complaint driven and you need to sort that. Managers Very supportive and Helpful!

I've worked in call centres all my life & it is the best place I have worked in - however this isn't saying much as it's the best of a bad lot.

Management only want you to hit numbers for ridiculously high targets. If you're not hitting numbers then file notes & improvement plans are discussed.


Targets change all the time.

You end up finding out mid-month what your targets are, so you've not got enough time left in the month to actually be able to achieve your target.

You ask for things to be done to help improve your performance - never gets done or you get fobbed off with excuses.

You deal with fantastically entitled customers - which makes the job really stressful, knowing that you need to be nice to them in order to hit your NPS scores.


In short, you do not get paid enough for the amount of stuff you need to take from customers. The verbal abuse, the mental strain of dealing with rude customers & ever increasing targets which are practically not achievable for most who work there & higher management that couldn't care less about you - you are a number at the end of the day & totally replaceable.

They expect all staff to work at the same level - which is not possible as certain folks excel in different areas, yet this is unacceptable.

You're seen as all the same - desk monkey drones that just need to get on with it.


Huge example of higher management being totally money driven, during the current pandemic, EE didn't close its doors - saying that upgrades were essential & all staff were essential workers. Yet we were still expected to cross sell customers

Great place to work with a good sense of community and always opportunities to develop skills and earn extra money if the work ethic is there. Commission is good as well but sometimes difficult to achieve depending on the area of work.

Good benefits for retail such as personal discount on phone, tablet, watch etc.

Work environment depends on store, can be very good or bad. Culture of pressure sales and mis-selling is almost a given and pushed on many levels.


If you have any moral compass or believe in truly doing right by people I’d avoid as you won’t get far.

EE is a very fun and productive workplace, can get very busy so we have set a queuing system in place for all customers. I've learned how to work in a very fast paced workplace and how to manage everything in busy environments.

Met some great people but aim higher and apply elsewhere as if your not part of a clicky group and if your face don’t quite fit at EE you will get nowhere no matter how well you do or be appreciated and your on the job knowledge and experience undervalued hence In-house trainers due to very high staff turn around and partly why there always recruiting. Smoke screen you with all the benefits etc especially at start, some are ok but not in the long run..

Stressful and no work life balance. Good pay and benefits however. Good steps to manager but seems only promoted if you network and get in with the higher teams.
Out dated systems also, way behind some.networks. Good salary butbthey expect results.

It is very much who you know not what you know if you wish to become more than just an advisor. Disability wise they are good at doing assessment salary is better than most call centres.
