Great colleagues working in difficult circumstances.
police constable (Former Employee) – dyfed- powys – 5 December 2012
Most of the front line officers and police staff dealing with the public are great. I believe that there are issues with higher management and the support that they provide to the front-line staff; as these staff members have to deal with difficult personal and public situations on a daily basis and tend to get stabbed in the back by the senior officers, who seem to have forgotten the reason that they joined the police force, and are chasing figures. Performance is monitored by figures, and figures can be changed to fit in with any current operational campaigns.
I have great respect for the police who work on the streets in the local area, and nationwide. However I have little respect for the parasites that live off the good work that these people do; until pressure gets put on them, and they don't have the back bone to stand up for their own. There is very little honesty and integrity within the higher ranking officer within the force.
I hope that this is not the same nationwide.
long hours, uncaring management
