Very unachievable targets. Rude aggressive managers. Get abused and shouted at daily by manager and also customers. Just one uniform to wear that has to last forever. No perks. No enjoyment at all working there.

Corrupt and Horrid Place.
Customer Service Advisor (Former Employee) –  Sheffield, South Yorkshire6 December 2018
Okay so at first glance, and in training everything seems alright. Pay is great and there are good insentives.

The good parts end there.

You quickly realise that after training, you know actually nothing about the job and have to go theough countless mistakes and annoyed customers before you even remotely get this right.

You're always told that you aren't there to take abuse. That is a lie. Managers will make you take abuse as much as they please as long as it means they get out of a call.

As many reviews also mention here, half of them have no idea what they are doing. They take the absolute mick all the time, never on the floor or available when needed and never truly help with any of the issues.

Half of the customers that come through, you can fully understand their frustration but it doesn't matter what you think, because the money is all this company cares about. There is no real 'customer service' as they couldn't care less what their issue is, and then you end up being the one taking the brunt for an issue that you're on the side of the customer with due to the sheer corruption.

The hours are long and hard around peak time, with absolutely no leeway. Expect to work 6, 10 hour days at least every other week. And 5, 10 hour days on the other.

Not to mention, they days you work change every week, leaving no room for plans, and you have ABSOLUTELY NO SAY in this, they do not care about your life outside the workplace.

Also big one: If you have health issues and are prone to sick days, do not even remotely bother. Mental health or physical you will
more... be one of the first to be kicked off regardless of the amount of work you try to put back in to make up for it.

Oh however if the manager's take about 3 weeks off at a time due to sickness and go home early, or simply not put in any team building time that's perfectly fine, of course(!)

All in all, save yourself the months, and just go anywhere else because you will be used and torn down like you wouldn't believe, and they couldn't care less.

Lots of silos within company but is filled with passionate people who love customers and know the telco domain.
Seems like new CEO is taking steps in right direction but will take a year or 2 to get there.

HR Advisor (Former Employee) –  Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire13 November 2018
Decent pay and a good company culture. Totally different nowadays, staff are treated like children with no space to innovate, every part of your day is micro-managed bonuses are promised but not delivered, dozens of varying difficult KPIs/targets to hit and extreme pressure to hit them.

Pressured Dixons/Carphone Warehouse
Sales Advisor (Former Employee) –  Leigh, Lancashire2 November 2018
Previously worked for PC World/Dixons. High sales driven targets KPI's on products and services are required to make a complete sale i.e. add ons due minimal margins made on each product. Re-applied again after being convinced by a former manager for PC World/Dixons after being out of work for several months. Warned by the ex-manager that head office often gave sales targets that was not enjoyable asking employees to achieve. Job application procedures have changed. For the first stage apply for the job online, secondly complete an online test and finally have a face to face interview with printed questions from recruitment software. Answers are then fed into recruitment software that inaccuractly calculates a score. If you are offered the job by the store manager good news. This is where the second stage of the process fails due to the way they operate. You are require to complete online documentation in a portal that you have no access, due to a missing username and password. If not completed your start date is increased by seven days, each time. You are stuck in a loop. It is a requirement to download a mobile app to access work schedules. Without the mobile app you do not get paid wages. They have many minor issues that mount up into a major problem, with customers and employees alike. Store managers rotate to different stores and determine how difficult the job can be due to their people skills and ability. If the store manager is difficult, most store employees then move to other stores that have a good reputation manager. Look once, think twice before working for Dixons.

Experience depends on store
Customer Consultant (Current Employee) –  Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire30 October 2018
I have worked here twice. I left the first time based on how i was treated.
The first stime i worked here, it was enjoyable and targets although high, were easy if you done your job right and still possible without habing to lie. I have been in a few stores but about 5 stores later i found a store where the regional manager treated me like dirt and the branch manager did nothing to the store but took all good credit. So i left.

I rejoined and my new manager is amazing. Works around me and the new training is amazing.

Your time here will utterly depend on your colleagues and manager. So apply and get a feel for the manager in the interview.

Tons of benefits amd reward is great if you hit target and get good reviews from customers.
Pros
Lunch paid, Discount of monthly bills and accessories and money of things like cinema, childcare vouchers
Cons
If you have a bad manager you have a bad time. Gets really hot. Standing all day.

Targets targets targets
Sales Advisor (Former Employee) –  Sussex24 October 2018
All about the kpi, mainly home broadband in fact that is all they care about . If you don't hit your target it's disciplinary time and if you don't get people to sign up to marketing its the same. The management do not want to hear that people are in contract its get your target or get out. At times it feels that's all they care about. The needs of the customer are right at the end of the queue behind how much money you can screw out of them. If you pride yourself on good customer service then this is not the job for you. If you care about the customer it is not for you. They might talk talk the talk about caring (staff or customer) but that is defiantly not the case. Think carefully before you apply

Sales Adviser (Former Employee) –  Wallsend7 October 2018
High KPI's will always be the drive in this company with them ever expanding and unachievable targets being set; however the community and colleges provide excellent support to help you in succeeding and you will get out as much as you put in.
