Sales Adviser (Former Employee) –  Wallsend7 October 2018
High KPI's will always be the drive in this company with them ever expanding and unachievable targets being set; however the community and colleges provide excellent support to help you in succeeding and you will get out as much as you put in.

Warehouse Operative/Picker (Former Employee) –  Newark-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire29 September 2018
Long hours, lots of pressure, almost no benefits.

You can make some good friends.

Career progression is difficult, favouritism and racism run the warehouse departments.

Only work here if you hate yourself
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) –  Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire22 September 2018
Since the financial crash this company has become worst than you can image and it was tuff enough before then. I had managers tell me get lost when I wanted to hit department targets, Ive seen individuals fall to the pressure of alcoholism because they didn’t hit targets. One even tried to commit sucide. Pay has gone down by 45% since I first started. You are forced to treat customer like rubbish the same as managers treat you. I honestly don’t know how the people in the company can live with themselves.

Please this company doesn’t deserve to exist, don’t work there or buy there. The only advantage they have is scale.
Pros
You learn the worst in business practices in the uk.
Cons
You will never feel like a winner even if you are in the top ten in the country.

White Goods Engineer (Former Employee) –  United Kingdom12 September 2018
Hated working here. No bonus or way of earning it. Always worked over 41 hours a week and company won’t pay you overtime. Parts are always used or damaged, poor customer service, poor equipment and uniform. Health and safety doesn’t exist. I wouldn’t work here again, no potential and no one cares your just a payroll number. Avoid these jokers they haven’t a clue what they are doing

Depressing place to work
Sales Consultant (Former Employee) –  South West8 September 2018
I managed to last a month and felt that there was too much pressure on selling the smaller things which customers don't need or at least have a choice in wanting (services) and apparently you don't need to know about the products or the till system to be able to make sales.
There is no customer service focus and trying to build a rapport with them, if you spent more than 5 minutes with a customer that is buying something other than a TV or laptop you get reprimanded.
They talk about so called "experts" in the adverts but expect you to have the knowledge without having sold products before.
The final straw for me was finding out that you cannot order products without a member of managements permission which for me compromises customer service.
Pros
Nice sales staff
Cons
Mismanagement, too much focus on pressuring customers to buy things they don't need

hand rag driver installer (Former Employee) –  Manchester, Greater Manchester25 August 2018
You are nothing more than a number.
Management is a clique, only nepotism works here,or if you know the managers.
Manchester is a brutal depot to work at,the top site managers changing every few months,it's that poorly run.
THERE IS NO BONUS.
Every single flm here would stab you in the back, there is absolutely no respect or trust between management and staff, just how they like it.
There is however,an
100% fix for this depot:
Pay and treat the men like equals, earn some respect, then it will flourish.
Ignore at your peril.
Pros
Zero
Cons
Management is the poorest I have ever encountered.Ever.

Stock and process (Current Employee) –  Wales19 August 2018
If you cant get anything else, go for it, but have an exit strategy. The progression is extremely limited and the the opportunity for increased pay is based on the minimum wage increasing.

10% discount, 30% discount on ee contracts

Soul destroying place to work
Sales Consultant (Former Employee) –  South West16 August 2018
The pay is awful for the amount of stress you are put under. Management treat you appallingly and like to create a fear environment. Unreasonable targets, asked to work early and stay late but never paid for it. End up doing managements job for them as the company do not advance the correct employees. Dodgy sales tactics are encouraged as long as the store is making money. No work life balance. Unnecessary stress. Four of the employees I worked with ended up with ongoing mental health issues due to working for this company. It is not worth it. Stay away.
Pros
Nothing
Cons
9 hours standing up, no lunch break, shouted at for nothing.

White goods diagnosis (Former Employee) –  Sheffield, South Yorkshire16 August 2018
Unrealistic targets, managers who are too busy sleeping with colleagues despite getting married soon. White goods dept is a shambles badly run and managed. Staffing levels are a joke.
I can't wait to hand my notice in tomorrow.
There are only two chase managers who are decent.
