Stressful and the staff don't take walkers into consideration and the hours are ridiculous and they don't show any respect.
The services users are very friendly and I loved working for them it was some of the staff I found it difficult working with some of them were rude, negative and expected me to pick up hours on top of my own which was hard to manage they give you all the hours god sends I only had 2 days off a fortnight and even then they would ring up and ask me to cover. It was stressful and I was dismissed for personal reasons.
Worked for dale care for 10 years..management especially hr manager he speaks to carers like dirt on his shoe!! Had me in tears he’s that nasty..had a bad few months health wise and never got shown any support was treated like dirt..nice after 10 years service..!!!not the same company anymore..avoid at all costs
I hated it. From the moment I started my first day of training, I knew I wasn’t going to like it. Probably due to the fact that they gave me an ATTACK alarm and a torch in a welcome package, which only makes me wonder what on earth has gone on beforehand for them to start giving these out to new staff?! I only had 2 shadow shifts and was then expected to go out all on my own - I had to ask for an extra shadow shift (which they were very snotty about!!). I hadn’t even had my Moving & Handling training by this point, and I was still expected to use the hoists etc which is illegal. I’ve worked in the care sector previously, going door-to-door, but Dale Care is an absolute joke. I was being made to go from one end of the town, all the way to the other. Which is a nightmare because I don’t drive and I had just moved from a small village in the highlands of Scotland, down to England, so I was unfamiliar with the area! They still send me payslips, although I’m unsure why because I’ve already informed them that I’ve resigned? I only had 15-30 mins in one persons house and then had to move on to the next person which is usually a massive treck away. That’s just ridiculous and not enough time at all?
i liked helping out round my local community and i built a lot of great relationships and really enjoyed the work i done. on the other hand the organisation of my schedules and such were very off puting. I know everything will have their downsides but I was working alot of anti social hours and not getting paid for them or paid late. the people i worked with i thought were very territorial and instead of working together they seemed to work aginst you. this did not apply to everyone i workedwith i made some good friends. I learned a lot about the needs of other people, a lot about medicines, day to day care and responsibility management treat you like dirt on there shoe they don't know what care is
long hrs under pay management
Working here is ok if you can tolerate doing your co ordinaters job. God forbid you have kids to look after not very understanding ridiculous expectations ask hours to work and change it all anyway no willingness to cover shifts if needed always given grief if you call the office been with them a couple of years and going to be leaving due to communication failures and false promises. Only good thing is the service users you see. Bad millage pay and no traveling time have to be magic or willing to leave the house earlier and get back later and you don't get paid for it. Get complaints of not enough staff one week over worked the next no hours and weekends are ridiculously full sometimes starting at 520am just to get calls covered who wants to be woken up then. Shambles

I am disappointed to read of the experience that you have had whilst working at Dale Care. I would encourage all employees to address issues such as these with their coordinator or refer them to our HR department in order to achieve an amicable resolution. I cannot comment specifically on your situation, however from your review it seems as though you are still working for ourselves so I would hope that we are able to address your concerns sooner rather than later and prevent you from leaving. Thank you for taking the time to post a review, as all comments, whether positive or negative, can help us to improve.
I felt that working with Dale Care LTD opened me up to new skills and different people and clients. There were also chances to complete CPD through training provided by the company and the clients where wonderful.
Meeting new clients
Awful, self centered company where the directors get richer and the care staff struggle to make ends meet. Rude towards staff not understanding with anything outside work or making money. Taking extra calls that put other clients at risk.
We want to help you find great companies. Help us be the best!

great for family life balance, great clients, freedom of working on your own cons would be the system doesnt always work so constantly receiving calls to check that you have attended a call paperwork required coming up to pay day doing inputs
I have worked for this company for 2 years & it took me a while to get out. I had my own regular clients which was great, but all your calls are doted about & not close to each other which means your always late for your next call. This company doesn't care about you, all they care about is that their clients are getting covered on time. Most annoying thing is that you get no thanks for picking up extra calls & the wages ain't that great for what you have to do. And your lucky to get a lunch/tea break when your working your weekend in!
Very long hours, limited breaks, no social or family life.

Thank you for your comments. I am sorry to read that you felt as though the company did not care about you as an employee. We are providing care to the vulnerable and elderly and, as a company, our primary concern has to be to the welfare of the client, ensuring that they receive the level of care which they deserve. We do value all of our carers, but at times it can be a balancing act between meeting the needs of our clients whilst also considering the welfare of our carers. Those going in to the caring profession We also understand the importance of helping our carers to maintain a healthy work life balance, meaning time for a family or social life. In response to this, we have begun addressing the work patterns that we offer and providing greater flexibility in our shift patterns, including weekends, helping carers to maintain a healthy work/ life balance. We have also reviewed our procedures for ensuring that carers receive recognition when it is deserved.
you can be in and out all day with this job not being able to have a proper break, I learned moving and handling, medication most importantly how to respect someones dignity encourage them to do things thereselves, managment are very helpful, its not the best place for co workers as they can be very two faced. hardest part of the job is seeing service users upset, most enjoyable is seeing you have helped someone or made them smile
I find the support from office staff very good. Good flexibility and always extra work if I need over time. Pay mileage which some companies don't do. Lovely bunch of carers. I enjoy my job and would recommend working for this company.
Flexible hours / supportive management / excellent training
Sometimes to busy
I worked for Dale Care for several years gaining experience and qualifications. I liked the staff, the clients, my co-ordinator(s) and Management. If you had any queries they were more than happy to help and support you as best they could. The hardest part of the job was time between days off but it was rewarded by the clients and you were paid well for the work you did.
Knowing you were supported
Time between days off.
