Busy workplace with opportunity for progression
Assistant Supply Chain Coordinator (Former Employee) – Coventry, ENG – 12 March 2015
I have wored for DHL for over 13 years. I started off on a 30 hour contract as my son was in full time education and I needed to be there when he came home from school. I then moved onto full time hours.
I found that DHL is committed to providing a safe place to work with many training opportunities. They wish to provide the best service for the customer and you are provided with the necessary training to do that, and will be often be encouraged in self-improvement. You will find many different cultures and a friendly atmosphere between co-workers.
That being said, management can vary depending on the contract or area that you work on, but the thing to remember is that they are also encouraged in self-improvement ;)
The company is always looking to improve and can sometimes move contract locations, this can leave you with the need to look around for a transfer to another contract within your area, which has happened to me twice. They will help in this, but it'a the luck of the draw if a suitable possition is available in your area in the timeframe needed, and you still need to go through the application process like everyone else.
Opportunities for progression and training provided.
Holidays over Christmas period can be hard to get since it is during one of their busiest periods
