Read the Council Plan for the area you intend to be working in, they are bound to ask you what you think of their projections for the year.

It is a really challenging and rewarding place to work with lots of lovely colleagues. There is something different every day and you can really make a difference to the lives and communities in Cumbria which is something I get a real buzz out of. They have a great range of family friendly benefits too. :)

My experience is that it is really good. They have a good flexi scheme and holiday entitlement and our team are always encouraged to achieve a work-life balance. We get to work from home too (on occasion ) so we can get projects done without much distraction which is really helpful.
