Ex driver (Former Employee) – Stafford, Staffordshire – 20 December 2018
Pay ok management benefits ok morale is really low, left after 12 years as it was getting worse by the day ,i ran out of the stafford depot and you are now being told that they can change your job start times by up to12 hours so not family orientated and you are just a number, the slightest thing that you do wrong or accused of doing wrong you will be sacked so good luck if anybody wants to work here best thing i did when i left
HGV Class 1 Driver (Current Employee) – Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire – 18 July 2018
The job consist of delivering and collecting from RDCs and other culina depot across the country. The job itself is dead easy buy you will be working very long hours, 60 is a normal week. Poor job/life balance. They are very strict on everything, you will also be treated just like a driver with a number. Poor organisation means you end up waiting 2 to 3 hours at collection point and the amount of paperwork is absolutely ridiculous. If you have just left the army and don't bother spending most of your time at work then feel free to apply.
Customer Service (Former Employee) – Market Drayton – 23 September 2018
Awful company to work for. Don't get paid any extra for overtime or Christmas. Management team about as much use as a chocolate teapot. They have their favourite work staff and treat the rest differently. Salary isn't great either.
HGV Class 1 Driver (Former Employee) – Avonmouth – 6 June 2018
As a job its fine. Badly managed can mess you about alot. Main gripe is you are on a salary pay so no overtime pay unless you work a rest day. Fleet in good order if you can one with any damage on it. Both transport managers unapproachable. Most of the staff and drivers are friendly and helpful.
I’ve worked in Culina haverhill since November. I very rarely do more than ten hours daily. It’s five days on 3 off so don’t understand other reviews saying no family time.
I can’t speak for other depots but Haverhill management is fine. They don’t treat you as a number and are very friendly and also use your name. Yes there’s lots of paper work but it’s easy. If your competent then you’ve got no worries.
Good rate of pay.
I’m not getting the hours to benifit from the hourly rate
I have worked there for many years. If you work there's no problem all the reviews come from people who wanted to come and get paid for nothing. Good work life balance 4 on 4 off shifts. Good rate of pay.
Driver (Former Employee) – Bristol, Bristol – 22 July 2018
I recently done a very briefe stint with them. Easy job it’s self main reason I left was they were sending me back out after 9 hours, always getting back with barely any working time left so always nearly a night out. Wouldn’t of minded so much if it was paid hourly but your constantly doing 12 hour days for 31500. There’s a lot better out there. Rules and regs also abit military. Nice trucks tho!
A very terrible place to work in , staffs unfriendly, management terrible. Unrealistic targets and if u don't get the target they fire you even before your probation is up . How terrible can that be. Avoid this company like a plague seriously.
General Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) – Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire – 16 August 2018
It's a stressful place to work. If you want to follow manual handling and health and safety It's very hard and difficult to achieve targets set by Company. They treat people like numbers! Bullying management!
Best way to describe the place is a prison...every move you make is watched!!! Yellow shift best shift by far...avoid if you wanna be happy...one week days one week nights shift patterns are hurrendous
Money fantastic..some management and people are brilliant
Like a refuge camp, prison, every move is monitored
Targets in achievable, turn over of staff colossal. Senior management appalling, if you are not in the group you will be gone within your probation period with no concrete reasoning just a fabrication of what they decide that day! Avoid like the plague unless your willing to be part of modern day slavery
One decent shift manager, she supports all writhin her team
They take you on and fire you before the end of your probation so they don't have to give out contracts happened to 10+ people while I was there also unreachable targets they expect you to reach after littlre training and experience with the job
The trucks are in good nick and pays alright but this place is stricter than the army and hands out twice the disciplinarys. When in the yard you are been watched on camera, expect to be bollocked for the slightest error.
Good trucks, easy runs, no handball, OK pay
Too strict, awful morale, last minute run switches
Driver (Current Employee) – Haverhill, Suffolk – 16 June 2018
Have not got a clue on how to look after staff. High turn over of staff anyone who's good at there job will leave within months. For such a large company they are clueless.Don't listen to staffs concerns. STEER WELL CLEAR!!!!!!!!!!
