Social Media Officer (Former Employee) –  Coventry31 January 2019
Moved between lots of areas ended up in Marketing. Mostly really good but ended up very badly. The marketing dept is run on fear and tyranny. Creatives are scared to take risks and it is the most unappealing place you could work in. More like a call center full of temporary staff than a vibrant and exciting creative hub. Numerous complaints ignored by HR. However spent time working in other schools and most of them were fine. As ever it depends on local managers and directors.
Pros
Good staff benefits. Some great staff.
Cons
Ineffective HR.

Lack of support and poor equipment
EAP Lecturer (Former Employee) –  Coventry, West Midlands28 January 2019
I worked there as an ESOL Lecturer in 2017. The workplace and environment are probably the worst part. Although desks were shared, one could hardly find a free spot to sit down and complete their work/class preparation. The staff room badly needed refurbishment: it looked as if it was falling apart, and only one printer (old style/often jammed) was shared by everyone in the room.

Due to shortage of teachers, students from different levels were often merged in one class (placing more pressure on the teacher), and many teachers seemed to suddenly disappear (either quitting or quietly dismissed...). Generally speaking, it was a chaos.

A job to gain knowledge and grow your CV. Friendly staff and a chance to meet and tell the students about your experience of the course. A place to learn how to manage a group of adults and students, as taking them around.

Hourly Paid Lecturer in Teaching Laboratory (Former Employee) –  Coventry28 May 2018
As my work is a part-time teaching role. There is no pressure but good preparation still required. The best part is you can talk to different people while the worst part is you may need to repeat teaching material for max 5 times. After all, it is a good experience for me.

Voluntary - good experience
Student Legal Advisor (Former Employee) –  Coventry, West Midlands14 May 2018
As a Law student, this project is a great opportunity to going good legal experience - as a well as general client/interview experience/skills.

It can also be very rewarding. There is hard work to be done, and a bit of pressure in terms of (potentially) representing someone in a tribunal, however you are walked through it.
Also, staff are more than nice and helpful.

However, you are dealing with repeals a health benefit (e.g. ESA) rejections - so naturally, you will be dealing with people going through difficult situations, or things not going well. So, it is not for the faint of heart
Pros
Staff, experience, rewarding work
Cons
Sensitive issues
