Support Worker (Former Employee) – Poole, Dorset – 31 March 2019
The shifts were long, the organisation of the team itself was not good. Communication was the biggest problem and having to ring constantly asking for shifts when promised infinite upon starting. The agencies contracted slowly released all agency members for full-time staff members. The workplace itself was decent with the individuals and teams currently there, however you was expected to just know what you were doing and left to do your job. You could ask questions and swift answers would follow, everyone is busy and absentees were forever present. This gave a bigger workload on those who made it in that, especially if you are working the 15 hour shifts. Most enjoyably was getting to know the individuals I was looking after and bringing a smile upon their faces after getting familiar with them and their routine. Management at the homes was decent, disorganised, but managed to cope with the what resources they had.
