AVOID THIS COMPANY! You’re better off on benefits.
Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) –  Coalville18 August 2019
By far the worst place I have ever worked.
Management talk to you like rubbish and dock your wages for no reason. No health and safety knowledge and the warehouse is like a death trap!
Avoid at all costs!

Worst place of work...ever....
Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) –  Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire24 July 2019
In the beginning they promise a lot of things...maybe only if you are a unicorn...you will be appreciated. Some team leaders thinking...they are masters on plantation.
Pros
Waste of time
Cons
Money, environment, everything...

A lot of responsibilities for job with NO benefits
Stock Auditor (Current Employee) –  United Kingdom19 March 2019
Worked here about a year managers are hardly here your pretty much left to do what ever with little guidance.

You scan targets keep on going up even though by the time it takes to set up scanners and print useless paperwork (which you HAVE to do) you’ve lost hours to be able to get your target. And there’s also hardly no stock in the morning so it’s VERY still and boring but still expected to gains scans

Pay is £8.50 p/h but apparently not going up in April even tho location is far, working conditions are harsher than average job and a lot more pointless work than the average job.

Supervisor is a bit snakey, will be nice to your face then slate you behind your back. Job is good for flexibility of work/life balance BUT they have no made a policy to not be flexible so the job is just rubbish now with no benefits whatsoever
Pros
No micro managers
Cons
No more flexability, low pay for lot of work, cocky staff, long hours, stressful environments

Greedy company run by very very greedy people.
Revenue officer (Current Employee) –  South East17 December 2018
Worked at a company for 4 years before connect took over, job wasn't bad and now it is awful, used to get a nice 5% commission from the previous owners and now that connect have taken over I'm lucky if I get A 1% commission, no one can explain how the new commission system works, managers know nothing and just pass you off to the next one. Majority of the warehouse staff are lazy and have attitude and lying problems. Mid shift has less staff, less time and get paid less money to do more work than the night shift who get less work more time and more money. Very very greedy company. Do not work for them you will not get your money's worth, work like slaves for pennies.
Pros
None
Cons
Rubbish pay, extra heavy lifting without correct equipment or any help, managers cant tell you anything you want/need to know. Rubbish commission payments.

A very relaxed environment with plenty of opportunities to self-learn. Everyone is friendly and supportive. Good location and a decent office. There can be some office politics but that's just common everywhere.
Pros
Friendly people, relaxed policies
Cons
Pay

Poor Company
People Team (Former Employee) –  Swindon2 August 2018
Worst company I have ever worked for!

Promised development opportunities when I first joined which never materialized.

Worked at Connect for 7months and didn't receive any objectives let alone a performance review.

Very unprofessional and disorganized! Management are extremely disconnected to those at the bottom and don’t appear to care.

Taylorism approach to management in which employees are merely parts of a machine (which can easily be replaced) rather than human beings.
Pros
Friendly People
Cons
Management, direction and development

No training, promotions or pay increases
Employee (Current Employee) –  Wolverhampton, West Midlands2 October 2017
No training
No Promotions
No pay increases

Employees are sold a dream that they will receive training, promotions and pay increases. The truth from all employees who have left that everyone is left exhausted carrying out work that a dozen should be doing rather than just one and also fighting for training, promotions and pay increases which are all deserve but never receive knowing they would be given this opportunities at other companies

Data Officer (Former Employee) –  Wolverhampton, ENG7 January 2016
Wouldn't work here again for double the salary!

Management is weak, and senior management are very autocratic (do as I say, not what I do)
You are not allowed to have an opinion, and if you do, it will not be heard, or counts for very little!
The management structure of this company is beyond a joke! The CEO seems a nice enough guy, but the business partners are rarely seen!
You will get on here if you Kiss enough a** and act as a yes man, working 25 hours a day 8 days a week.
Pay is poor for this sector! pay rises are unheard of, not even so much as a cost of living rise in almost 2 years.
Job advancement and progression are a none starter.

To sum up if you have your own mind, a social life, or wish to better yourself, look elsewhere for a job, as you will be on the same wage, and in the same position in ten years time else.
Pros
Inner city Location
Cons
B*tchy, self obsessed co-workers, poor wages, lack of direction

Connect Books (Former Employee) –  Norwich, ENG6 March 2015
A varied business within the book sector, operating both in the UK and internationally with a diverse customer base - B2B, D2C, this is a good place to work for those interested in growing their experience in a trading environment.
