The hours are exhausting. Sleep in shifts start at 2pm on one day and end at 2, 3 or even 4pm the following day!
You are meant to "sleep" or "clock off" between 10pm and 8am, but residents often keep you awake, and you are on call for if they need you so you can't really relax. The fact that sleep in shifts are lone working are hugely anxiety inducing, and having to work a full day after a sleep in is murder!

Other shifts are typically 10am-6pm or 2pm to 9pm which isn't too bad.

Weekends are entirely lone working other than when the next sleep in staff comes and you are with them for 1 hour for handover.

This is extremely problematic for if there are any incidents or if the next member of staff calls in sick. One colleague ended up doing two sleep ins in a row for this reason, and not going home for 49 hours!
