Good place to work for experience
Retail Assistant (Current Employee) –  Stockton-on-Tees, Durham11 October 2018
A typical day at work is measuring children’s feet and to find them the right shoes. I learned how to work in a busy environment. The worst part of the job is the hours you get given it’s either between 8-12 hours a week.
Pros
Safe and easy environment to work in
Cons
Low hours so never have any money

Good pay, positive atmosphere, interesting job
Sales Team Member (Current Employee) –  Kendal8 September 2018
I worked part-time at Clarks for 2 years and in that time most of my days working were spent in the kids department, helping to fit shoes. This was the interesting aspect of the job and since it paid well and I wasn't bored, I give it 5 stars.

Job is great, staff are not!
Sales Team Member (Former Employee) –  West Midlands7 September 2018
The job is lovely, however, the downfall is the staff. They don't handle customer feedback, enquiries or complaints well at all. Staff can come across very rude at most times and this is not appropriate. A number of customers have made complaints regarding this.
Pros
Fun job
Cons
Staff attitude is appalling

Fast paced and good wages
Sales Team Member (Former Employee) –  Thornaby on Tees25 June 2018
Work is busy and stressful at times, but the wages are brilliant. The environment is intense with lots of young children and stressed parents but the team is friendly and understanding.

Great Company
Sales Team Member (STM) (Former Employee) –  Great Yarmouth, Norfolk7 June 2018
Friendly staff members who are easy to get on with and have a passion for shoes. Great benefits with 33% discount and you are defiantly looked after. However hours are not always there to be given and may be sent home early if quiet.

Overall, working at Clarks was a good experience, with a competitive salary and very flexible working hours. The people were friendly and always around to provide support, however the atmosphere was sometimes very tense and pushy

Management were very organised, having faith in employees to delegate work. The overall workplace culture was fun however seasonal fluctuations in the summer made the job quite stressful.

Sales Team Member (Summer Temp) (Former Employee) –  Andover6 December 2017
Friendly and supportive staff and management. Help with training and how to use equipment. Hardest part of the job was getting use to measuring with precision. Most enjoyable part was becoming friends with staff and building confidence by talking to customers.

This was my first job after leaving school. They were flexible with the shifts for the days I had college and the pay was good for a 17 year old that just left

Average retail job
Sales Assistant Team Member (Former Employee) –  Southport27 September 2017
All the staff are very friendly. You have to have had previous experience in retail before working here as it is very sales driven. Sometimes you are told to try and sell an extra pair of shoes to customers so you have to have good customer and product knowledge.
Pros
30 %33 of shoes and 2 100% a year

Very friendly place to work, always a positive atmosphere. Other staff were very friendly and supportive, however management could be very strict and abrupt if you did not meet your sales targets.

I worked here for a couple of months and found that all staff were friendly and helped me out on the occasions in which I needed assistance. The hardest part of the job was trying to meet high targets but this only encouraged me to work harder than before.
