Skin care specialist (Current Employee) –  Beverley16 December 2018
I became a clarins skin care specialist may this year, I’ve been wanting to do a job like this for a while and honestly it is the best job, the benefits you get are amazing the training you receive is astounding, and if making customers feel the best and you generally want to make people feel beautiful, I wouldn’t hesitate to apply for the any job with clarins, the best company I could ask to work for

Spa therapist- it's not as great as it cracks up to be... Good and bad aspects.
Spa Therapist (Former Employee) –  London, Greater London24 August 2018
Where do I start...

Your a number not a person.

Management is awful- show no support when there is a situation or problem within the store, so if you have an issue with something nothing I'll be done about it.

Your expected to work extremely hard in and out treatment and they show no appreciation at all, even when your above and beyond your retail/treatment sales targets.

They care more about your targets and hitting them more then being a great therapist.

Training is good.. Very intense but very good.

They can change your rota anytime. Started the job doing one weekend a month (Saturday and Sunday) and then they changed it so you work 4 weekends! So there's not care about your personal life and your opinion on the changes doesn't matter.

There's always drama within the store, which wears you down and makes it unbearable to go into work and do your job properly.

The team you work with are genuinely be lovely...minus the management.

It's good to work for the company because of their name, so looks good on your cv.

If you want your job to be your life then great but if you see a job as being something that makes you money so you can go home each day and live your actual life then this isn't the company to work for.

They care more about making money then their member of staff.

Counter manager very regimental
Skin care specialist (Former Employee) –  Hampshire26 March 2018
Based on my location, management was very regimental and not supportive. When suggesting ideas for events or to be more proactive it was “ already tried that, doesn’t work” so no moving forward with the times. Ideas that was used on clients to enhance sales was fed back to regional but not advised skin care specialist idea.
Pros
Allocation was a benefit
Cons
Stood around not being proactive, hours of Debenhams .

Good area manager relationship but depends on the store you work in
Account Manager (Former Employee) –  Bexleyheath19 February 2018
Clarins is an excellent company to work with but you spend the majority of the time having to answer to the head of whatever store you are in's department. I worked in a Boots where the management weren't good however Clarins are brilliant with work life balance and career progression. Just be prepared to work unsociable hours and weekends :(
Pros
Good work, life balance, company very understanding with family needs and emergencies
Cons
Unsociable hours, store you're in might be difficult to work in

Spa Therapist
Spa Therapist (Former Employee) –  Midlands14 November 2017
I feel quite sad as used to work for company down south and had nothing butt good words to say about company. Unfortunately since moving to Midlands i got a job as a Spa Therapist and felt so let down by management, very unsupported, uncaring, i wouldn't recommend working for them up here. You work very hard but don't get appreciated.

Productive and different
Clarins - Skin Specialist (Former Employee) –  Basingstoke4 September 2017
Great company to work for however like any job in retail sometimes it can be a little quiet and a little demotivating.
It taught me many skills especially with customers, you're always learning and every day is different.
The hardest part of the job was finding things to do when there were quiet days or knowing everyone is off at the weekend and you're at work, being able to change your work ethic sometimes i guess.
The best part about the job was the people, you get to meet so many different people, customers and employees, everyone has a story.
Pros
Commission, perks, rewards
Cons
long hours, quiet days

Skincare Specialist (Current Employee) –  London28 August 2017
Salary depends on counter and store
Salary varied but low, but managers are paid well; company benefits are good
Job security - many vacancies for specialist roles but no scope for career advancement once you are working in a specific role
Management standards variey from appalling to excellent
Job Culture - Friendly, fun and dynamic, sometimes a little to 'young'
Pros
Allocation every 3 Months
Cons
Long unsociable hours - unbalanced rota depends on manager

Spa Therapist (Current Employee) –  London, Greater London19 August 2017
Have flourished and grown so much in my confidence. Senior management need to be more motivating as can show a lack of empathy and understanding. They have a tendency to treat therapists as numbers not people. The training is fantastic!
Pros
Brilliant product allocation
Cons
Lack of support from head office management
