Comfortable working environment despite work pressures
Senior Travel Claims Assessor (Current Employee) – Plymouth, MS – 23 July 2018
*A typical day at work involves incoming calls for new and existing claims and taking action on post and email allocations.
*In my four year with the company I have learnt many skills in handling calls professionally, showing the correct amount of empathy whilst building rapport with the customer. I have learnt to remain calm and maintain a professional approach when faced with volatile situations when dealing with complaints.
*The hardest part of the job is complaints handling, but I have a natural ability to empathise and always manage to control the conversation ensuring the customer is made fully aware of their right to complain, yet often resolving the situation there and then.
*The most enjoyable part of the job is the satisfaction of helping someone in their time of need. It can be very stressful and worrying for someone claiming the first time. Many times they are faced with a situation they do not know how to deal with, and the added stress of being in a foreign country with language barriers. Being able to speak Greek to an advanced level I was often called upon to translate documents, or make calls to Greek authorities, as part of the claim investigation.
*The work culture is positive although can be stressful during high seasons where high call volumes are experienced.
Shift patterns were very irregular rather than on a rolling basis
