What advice would you give the CEO of Choice Care Group about how to improve it?

  • In order to recruit and retain staff of any caliber pay rates need to be reviewed as a matter of urgency. They are typically 40% below the national average. How does Choice Care expect to offer a quality service and have a good reputation when they pay pittance? I speak as a qualified, experienced, carer with in excess of 15 years. experience of caring for children & young adults with severe autism and challenging behaviour. Choice Care have recently been awarded the contract by Surrey County Council to manage a brand new service for 10 adults with severe autism, complex needs and challenging behaviour. I have in excess of 10 years first hand experience of these perspective service users and their families and it is a real concern to
    me that they won’t receive the quality care and consistency they require to flourish and achieve their potential in life. There’s absolutely NO way I could afford to work for the rates Choice Care are advertising their current vacancies for.! How do you honestly expect to run a quality service paying these rates? It’s false economy, all the available funds will be spent recruiting and training inexperienced staff over and over! The people who will suffer as a result of this is the vulnerable service users, which is so unjust.

    Here’s hoping you and your management will see sense, review your rates of pay and attract quality staff.
